  1. I'll say this with the caveat Vlad frustrates me to no end. I think the overall issue with the guy is people continue to think he is someone he's not. All of us should probably stop waiting for him to be the next Miguel Cabrera and accept he is more likely Paul Konerko or Jason Giambi.
  2. Jays win % this year is exactly where it was when Montoyo was fired last season. With how bad both the pitching and the offense has been this year both the Coach and the GM's jobs should be on the line. In particular, with Jansen, Kirk, and Varsho all slumping at the plate the Moreno trade looks terrible.
  3. Besides being friends with Bo and Vlad, what keeps the guy on the team? He is a 28 year old contact hitter who cant make contact.
  4. I love Vladdy. But has any hitter ever hit more balls towards the SS?
  5. Guy never came across as a leader of men. The late night Bongo playing didn't help his case. The Front Office better find a way to turn the season around if they want to stay employed.
  6. You nailed it. Teams take on the personality of their manager, and sadly the Blue Jays are soft. They play the role of the awe shucks underdogs well, and that would have been great two years ago. However, its time in their development where they should be world eaters. No one is scared to play a bunch of goofballs.
  7. Thank God training camp for the Bills starts at the end of this month. The Jays will likely make the playoffs but a lot of this feels like a repeat of last year.
  8. 10-1. No amount of pitching is going to help that.
  9. It's not just pitching. Chapman, Tapia, Bichette and Hernandez need to pick it up at the plate. Why Cavan Biggio is playing at the major league level at this point Ill never get.
  10. Woohoo theres the groundout to 3rd we are use to seeing!
  11. Cant hit when the pitching is good. Cant pitch when the hitting is good. Manager sets the tone for the team, soft.
  12. Cant wait until this inning is over. Really missing watching hitters ground out to 3rd and Short need a reminder.
  13. What an absolute joke from a soft team.
  14. Couldnt wait to get that bullpen started up when it was 1-0. Should have let Stripling pitch a few more.
  15. I was just reading how the Yankees would have to regress.
  16. Not going to lie. I agree with you here. While others here may not understand, its not just about running out that particular play, its goes deeper to the overall mentality of the player. Which in turn sets an example for the remainder of the team on whats acceptable.
  17. When you look at his stats thats exactly the sense you get. Maybe not as bad as 2019 Vlad, but very much on par with 2020 Vlad. Incredibly frustrating to watch right now. As you said, he isnt hitting with any power. Getting very tired of watching him hit the ball directly at the 2nd Baseman, and SS everytime he is up.
  18. Was listening to The Athletic's Blue Jays Podcast last week and one of the guys on the show said he predicts the Blue Jays will finally turn it around when Matt Chapman starts hitting. I found that a bit random and a tad bizarre because no one should be that surprised at how Chapman is hitting right now. He has never been a contact guy, in fact his BA has went down every year since his 2018 season. The guy is great in the field, and adds to it with power hitting here and there. I also see a lot of blame being put on guys like Tapia, Zimmer, Heineman etc. but the bottom line is the Blue Jays are going to go the way of their stars. Springer is giving you about what you'd expect from him, his power numbers are down but he is also older. You cant keep getting what you're getting from Bo, Teoscar, Gurriel and Vladdy and expect to be a legitimate contender this year. Bo has shown something the last few games, Teoscar is recovering from being hurt, but man you really have to start worrying about Vladdy at this point. He hasn't hit a homer in the last 14 games. His numbers this year on average look a lot like the 2020 season. As currently constructed I dont think the team has enough fire power to keep up with or beat the Angels, Yankees, or Astros in a playoff series.
  19. I am not sure Bo is the best 2nd baseman on the Blue Jay's let alone a future HOFer.
  20. If he can't field and he isn't hitting with power or contact, what exactly are we doing here? Is it time to bring Groshans up?
  21. As much as I don't care for 5'8 265 baseball players Kirk is the least of the problem right now, he can at the very least hit for contact. Collins, Tapia and Chapman are beyond reproach at the plate right now. Bichette and Gurriel need to get better and fast. I guess Gausman has been fun to watch...
  22. Hicks for sure helped it. Had he made the play he would have been on ESPN Top 10.
  23. I didnt notice it in the past but the last two years I've bought MLB.TV to listen to Toronto broadcasts and its way more evident now that I have control group.
  24. Dude is just different. If he stays healthy he is going to rival his Father's career. Which is not an easy task.
  25. Appreciate it brother! Cant stand those Yankees. Watching the Yankees broadcast here in WNY and the broadcasters were trying to say Vlad's first homerun wasnt all the way out.... just makes me dislike them more.
