John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 I sure wish the Jays had more swing and miss in their bullpen 0-2 right away on Cabrera and he can't finish him after 8 pitches EDIT: Nice, got him on the 9th Miggy still has decent contact ability and eye. Power is pretty much gone but he can still limp noodle his way to contact and a walk
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Nice to see Biggio coming around finally
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 No reason to be using Romano here, I don’t care if he hasn’t pitched since Tuesday. Let Thornton finish
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 RHHs not going to get fastballs lol. They all were up there looking for it
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 RHHs not going to get fastballs lol. They all were up there looking for it Yeah, was plainly obvious he was never going to see a fastball on the plate. He was just impatient
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Wow, great play by Vlad at 1B to avoid the runner and stay on the base
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Yeah, was plainly obvious he was never going to see a fastball on the plate. He was just impatient Springer never got a ball over the plate missed 3 curves. Bo never got a ball over the plate and grounded out on a low curve. Vlad got 2 curves over the plate, 1 low and in and the other a hanger he fouled, then missed the curve down and away. So obvious what they all were doing
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Yup, won the series, that’s all you can ask. Now let’s 3 of 4 from the Os and at least 2 of 3 from the Yanks.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Chicken Strip.....solid Vladdy.........hit a bomb Biggio.....two doubles Moreno....doesn't look out of place with the big club.

Yeah its a bit unfair to expect the Jays to sweep every weak team. That’s just not how baseball works. On the other hand, everyone thought we’d lose the series against the Angels and look how that went. s*** happens. Just keep winning series. Gotta play tough against the Os and Yanks this week.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 So happy for Biggio. He’s got a .365 on base and is hitting 9th. Anyone complaining about him is a very stupid person. He hasn’t shown the Homerun stroke yet but we know its in there.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Stripling resembling the Dodgers version of him pre-2020 is a nice surprise so far. Hope it continues. Contract Year Strip wants to get paid.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Stripling is Matz-ing this year. I won't mind seeing him get paid. He is doing exactly what we needed him to do this year.

He had fringe power always so maybe if the baseball is depressed he's just a doubles hitter for the most part. That's fine though.
Dokken Verified Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 And he only required 74 pitches. His previous game, he went 5.0 ip with 1 H, 0 BB, and 0 ER. And in that case only 56 pitches. If he keeps this up, Ryu will end up in the BP (assuming he comes back this season).

Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Yeah I guess it's Ryu vs. Kikuchi when/if Ryu returns Stripling is the clear #4 at this point in time
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Seeing as they just signed Kikuchi to a 3 year deal with starter money, I bet he'll get a lot of rope to find consistency. Hopefully he doesn't hang himself with it. He had a 2.36 ERA / 2.65 FIP in May (5 starts) and that includes 2 starts vs the Yankees.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 these things tend to sort themselves out anyway
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Yeah I guess it's Ryu vs. Kikuchi when/if Ryu returns Stripling is the clear #4 at this point in time I thought we were hearing Ryu was likely heading for surgery and done for the year??
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2022 Author Posted June 13, 2022 I have a conspiracy theory that Ryu is cooked and has a bad injury that's going to have a long rehab and they're only waiting for the Ryu jersey day to come and go before they announce it. Telling people Ryu is potentially out for the year is going to kill a lot of the interest that casuals might have in getting his replica jersey.
