Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Nothing official yet, just that he was sent for a 2nd opinion, doesn't sound good. sometimes they do that with chronic / nagging stuff if doctor #1 couldn't find a clear diagnosis

He's gone for awhile regardless and as you said this stuff usually works it way out. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jays in the market for a depth SP near the deadline.

It sounds weird, but I'm 100% okay with them taking all the time in the word with Ryu. Best case scenario, he gets back into the lineup later in the season and maybe helps out a bit at the end of the year and next. Worst case, he gets TJ surgery later in the season and wont be back next year at all either and off into FA without embarassing himself further. Sunk money, but at least he would be a known absence they can plan to replace accordingly.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 these things tend to sort themselves out anyway Trying to remember that last time a team had too much starting pitching and, ummmmmm..... I can't
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Thank God for having Stripling around... Exactly the kind of guy you want on the roster for their flexibility
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Checked in on Kendall Williams - good numbers. In A+ now. But he only got an HM on the Dodgers top prospect list with Fangraphs, which was done one month ago. Depth Starters Jerming Rosario, RHP Braydon Fisher, RHP Jimmy Lewis, RHP Kendall Williams, RHP Rosario sits in the low-90s, will creep into the mid-90s, and has a bevy of decent secondaries. He’s only 20 but isn’t all that projectable and he hasn’t sustained the advanced command he showed on the back fields. Fisher’s stuff has been all over the place, while Lewis’ and Williams’ were both down, with their fastballs hovering around 90 mph in our most recent looks at them.

What would be our pitching depth, Lawrence, Hatch, Juenger and Castillo, I think the Jays need to add at the deadline?
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 What would be our pitching depth, Lawrence, Hatch, Juenger and Castillo, I think the Jays need to add at the deadline? Yeah I dunno. It's not phenomenal. Nick Allgeyer, Trent Palmer in an emergency. Couple s***** guys at AAA like Bowden Francis. I think they are more likely to just piggy back two guys like Pearson and Thornton before giving any of these other sacks of potatoes an extended shot. So: Manoah Gausman Berrios Stripling Kikuchi Ryu (ouch) Pearson + partner AAA/AA guys Maybe they make another Stripling style trade and bring in a good swing man?
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Looks like Bowden Francis isn't starting anymore. His last 4-5 appearances have been in a relief role.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 If Pearson could somehow get built up to just being a ~4 inning pitcher it would or could be a big deal. Pearson for 60 pitches then the bullpen >>>> any depth SP they have
