Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Blazeit420 bro I work today, so it'll have to wait.
JuniorFelix54 Verified Member Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 The beauty of batting Vladdy #3 instead of #2 in this lineup. 9th inning last night: Vladdy is 4-4 and just needs a single person to get on base to get a chance at making history with his fourth home run of the night. The Jays go down 1-2-3 and the inning ends on a Bo Bichette ground out, Vladdy never comes to the plate. 2nd inning tonight: Bases loaded with a chance to break the game open against Severino. Bichette grounds out, Vladdy never comes to the plate. 7th inning tonight: Springer gets HBP, Yankees fans cheer. Blue Jays have a chance to make them pay and tie the game at the same time. Bichette grounds out, Vladdy never comes to the plate. 9th inning tonight: Bases loaded, chance to come back and win the most frustrating game of all time. Bichette caught out on a soft liner, Chapman TOOTBLAN, Vladdy never comes to the plate. 1st inning Vladdy comes to the plate - WHIFF 3rd inning Vladdy comes to the plate - WHIFF 6th inning Vladdy comes to the plate - WHIFF 8th inning Vladdy comes to the plate - WHIFF I don't understand, how can you go from 4 for 4 with 3 HRs and a double one day to 0 for 4 with 4 K's the next? I get that hitters always get on hot streaks and cold streaks but that's the most bipolar two game stretch in the history of the game. Don't you agree Mr. Brody Lee?

He had stitches in his finger for this game and he’s DHing tonight, so its probably bothering him a bit

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 It's almost as though pitchers are affected by the short spring more than hitters.

Do you think a couple stitches in his finger could have affected him? Does your brain function?

Could be part the pitcher of the night, part statistical noise. You would be well served to reconfigure your brain to ignore small samples.

He hit 2 HRs and a double after his hand got stepped on. Looks like the finger must have magically stopped bothering him since 20 hours ago..
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Ugh. I kind of supported JF until he went after Vladdy. Now I’m join the chorus calling him an idiot

Now I’m join the chorus calling him an idiot I'm not going after him at all, just find it crazy that on back to back nights there can be that kind of complete 180 in stats. Are you all millenials? You seem to get offended by everything and anything

Sometimes it’s a bunch of good games in a row, sometimes it’s not. Vlad is back at it again tonight so how much sense does it make to dwell on last night stats? Just shows stupidity

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Adam Cimber is the standalone leader in pitching wins with 3. A rather hilarious example of how useless the stat is.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Did Palacios get claimed? Yes he did, by the Nats.
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Not sure if this has happened in the past or maybe some planning now due to some outfield manpower/performance issues but Samad Taylor is starting in the outfield today for the Bisons. Maybe it's just moving around an asset from a loaded position to an position of organization need.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 If you are talking about, me, I never said our BP sucked, I do think it still needs improvement. I was replying to posters who said it was one of the top 10. It helps to look at things objectively. The writer states it is basically a toss up between the Red Sox and Jays BP. What the Red Sox writer also says, is that the Yankees and Rays have better pens. That is kinda of important when both are in our division and in the context of a playoff push. This is not directed at just you, but it seems like many on here have lost their ability to be objective and are letting homerism or articles from the Toronto Star shape their opinions. Yup
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Not feeling the Jays pitching, maybe 3 reliable SPs, and no solid depth. Yup
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Bullpen needs upgrades if this team actually plans on competing for a WS This pen is built to shut down the Detroit Tigers not the New York Yankees or Houston Astros Hopefully Pearson can help. Not holding my breath though. Need at least one and probably two guys better than Garcia/Cimber/Phelps
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 (edited) Hopefully the Jays can pick up Rosenthal. Obviously he's far from a sure thing, but if he stays healthy the guy is all about missing bats. He probably wants to be a closer, but maybe he'll want to chase a title. I haven't heard about him since his showcase? Hmm... ETA: Found this and it doesn't tell much... https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/video/blue-jays-looking-trevor-rosenthal/ https://www.si.com/mlb/bluejays/news/report-blue-jays-scouting-free-agent-reliever-trevor-rosenthal Edited June 18, 2022 by Spanky99
