I think it may be time to consider batting Gurriel second while he's hot. Bo's sub .300 obp and overall approach doesn't belong there.

Springer

Gurriel

Vladdy

Kirk

Bo

Teo

Espinal

Chapman

Moreno

I think we should consider repeatedly smacking gurriel on the side like a tv until he learns how to baserun.

Reddit is going mental wanting to fire charlie lol for keeping biggio in left on left.

I cannot understand how someone could watch that game against a team who aren’t really even in their contention window yet who rolled out arm after arm from their bullpen with f***ing nasty stuff and then watch the bottom of the inning and our little underdog pitch to contact f***ing ********, and be like…. yea… Charlie that’s the problem.

Mass f***ing delusion. Although, I’m on the west coast so I might have been one of the only people who saw it. Fire him.. who cares.. it might be entertaining watching someone less chill try to murder gurriel in the dugout.

I don’t think Charlie is the most beloved manager-just general sentiment. But those are some strange reasons for wanting him to be relieved of his duties.

I’m still not sure on him as a manager but right bow he’s only doing with what he’s been given.

Last night was a case of a base running miscue by Lourdes combined with some of the RISP variance that is frustrating to watch.

I actually liked how the team played last night. Felt it was a strong sign of things starting to turn around.

My biggest problem with the game last night was 0 walks against Borucki. Feels like the team is incredibly swing-happy over the course of this losing skid.

I agree, but the Jays bullpen was mostly fine last night. 2 for 19 with runners in scoring position was a big issue.

Borucki was another. Did Seattle change something with him to make him more effective? Or were the Jays just fooled by small sample size?

What sequence events led to Borucki on Seattle and Romo on Jays? Atkins is the one responsible for that decision.

They hit well enough. The hits just didn’t line up which is frustrating to watch. Lourdes’ base running… I don’t know how he makes that mistake. That probably lost the game right there.

Maybe you could say the base running would be better with a different manager? I don’t know. Lourdes has shown no signs of improvement there but I don’t see it coming.

Borucki got lucky in the first inning. Lined right into a double play. 4 or 5 feet left or right and that’s a base hit and a run. He did seem to throw more strikes. Romano I guess only goes one inning. Romo was probably the guy left who has been ‘good’ recently.

RISP is a lot of variance. They hit well enough, it didn’t line up. Every team goes through spells like that. Lourdes base running mistake killed us, alot like Kirk getting waved home a few days ago. Complete rally killer. Also took one hit away. I think Espinal technically hit into a fielders choice lol. 13 hits will normally win you games.

Didn't see the end of the game. What I did see wasn't luck with runners in scoring position.

1st inning Springer lead off double - 3 weak ground balls

In particular on TV Vlad looked like he swung at a terrible pitch. Looked like he was pressing. I've gotten into a huge argument about this a few weeks ago and haven't checked the pitch tracker as to where that pitch was, but on TV it looked like he swung at a horrible pitch.

Sort of tuned out after the Lourdes base running mistake and saw that Bo took strike 3 with bases loaded then slammed his bat. Seemed like another horrible at bat, not sure about the call as I wasn't paying much attention at that point then turned it off.

LOL. My wife also got specific fake messages on the app and told me they won on a Vladdy 3 run homerun. Fake news. Someone else said they got a similar message, but that Bo had won it. What is up with that? Was happy and surprised for a few minutes until I checked the box score.

The Bo one was against Kirby? That was a pretty nasty pitch. I hate Bo’s approach but that was a nasty pitch. I agree on vlad too. He has problems with sliders away.

However, guys hit weak ground balls with no one on. Vlad has bad at bats with no one on. I don’t think anyone is doing anything differently with RISP. The hits just aren’t lining up. It’s hard to call that anything other than mostly luck.

Charlie needs to go. Left on left with Biggio was stupid and fireable when Moreno could have brought in the run pretty easy...would it make a difference with Romo pitching, no, but still a problem

Fire him if you want. It has nothing to do with the overarching problems with this team but I don’t care if he gets fired.

It was a clear strike. He's completely lost

Eh, if it was before last night, that didn't do a damn thing.

Also the f*** would you not divulge when? What does withholding that information even do?

My guess would be after last nights game. Someone needed to step forward and tell the kids to stop worrying about having good vibes, and start to focus more on being staying in the game mentally.

Good vibes are fine, nothing wrong with having a good time. Just know when to crank up the intensity.

Oh and fire Montoyo.

How do the Yankees always seem to discover/acquire high leverage lockdown bullpen arms that can miss bats?

They identify them and acquire them. Blue Jays seem very reluctant to make trades. Prefer to monitor the scrap heap

The real answer is - money and an overflowing farm system.

They sign/extend guys like Britton and Chapman

They traded two 40+ FV position prospects for Clay Holmes which could have been a disaster but obviously looks great right now. Most teams don't have the farm system to do trades like that though.

They traded Garrett Cooper + Caleb Smith for Michael King which doesn't look like a great trade.

Forget Dumbtoyo... Is it time to fire Shatkins? Jays sent from a good story last year to basically unwatchable in the last few weeks.

If this team finishes anywhere near .500 and misses the playoffs there should be major changes.

I don't see their failures as being due to the managerial equivalent of babip. It's that they dont have competency in key aspects of talent assessment and player management.

Once you have identified this then there is no point in waiting. At least start a search quietly.

Jays were 11 games above .500, and in 2nd place in the AL east, they'd just gone 4-1 vs the Red Sox and Rays.

Come backer off Gausman's foot.

Have gone 1-8 since that happened.

Fragility does not a good baseball team make

Also the death of Budzinski’s daughter that day. Just an awful day and awful week for the Jays
