Not when you run a scrub like Kikuchi out there who has been throwing a baseball the past 15 years of his life and still has no clue where the strike zone is, no. Not when your top 4 hitters combine to go 2 for 17 with 2 singles.. it's not like there aren't obvious reasons for the loss, you cannot tell me last night was not a winnable game in every way. Not to mention I was complaining about Espinal being benched yesterday and his replacement Biggio went 0 for 3 with 3 Ks and 3 LOB. Had they just played Espi that right there might've been enough difference to win the game. Losses don't just "happen" because that's how baseball works

So, why does every team lose at least 60 or so games a year including a sizeable number against ‘bad’ teams?

You seem to have the secret. Are teams calling you all the time and you just have other things going on?

No one has to like it, but you do either need to agree with it or ignore it but don't try to tell me that it's not annoying for them to win 2 of 3 each series by 8-10 runs then lose the 3rd to bad teams. At some point if you're a team to be taken as a serious contender you need to sweep these bottom dwellers. Taking two of three from the Yankees or Rays or Red Sox is not the same as taking 2 of 3 from the Royals, Tigers or Orioles

Record against teams with a win% less than .500

NYY 29-9

TOR 20-7

TB 24-17

BOS 24-16

MIN 25-15

CLE 24-15

HOU 30-17

NYM 17-8

ATL 24-13

STL 23-11

MIL 22-12

LAD 25-12

SD 21-8

SF 18-11

All teams lose to bad teams. The Jays record against bad teams is one of the best in the league.

Sadly we've played fewer of those games than anyone else has and about half as many as Houston has somehow. Houston has played 15 games against teams better than .500. Almost half of those were against us.

You guys all realize that Big BlueJay is JuniorFelix54 right?

I honestly didn't even realize there was a poster called Big BlueJay until you mentioned it.

LOL. You are not a poster worth reading responses from. I hope you were drunk when you posted something as asinine as this. You should apologize, leave the board for a week or so and then come back and say you are sorry for your troll like dipshit reply.

Are you replying to the correct person? Dagagad has probably been the best new poster this year (clearly an early favourite for best new poster at the prestigious BJMB awards gala, IMO).

He's come off as a dogg / Carlos Danger style troll in several recent exchanges.

signal vs noise

smart teams buy Merryweathers. They don't cut them.

I question myself lots when he is getting rocked, but much more so than Borucki, I just don't want to give up on him even with this injury history. With his stuff I feel like, just with Gollum in the Lord of the Rings, he still has an important role to play in the end.

We just need to keep following him despite the red flags. He'll lead us to the World Series, which we'll win after Merryweather betrays the team and Moreno throws him into an ocean of liquid hot magma.

That is the Grant77 default setting when he realizes he is not winning a debate or his assertions don't hold water.. s***, I am losing this argument. Activate default response ://Poster out debating me = Troll / Apply settings

So I just want to get a feeling from the board here and I’m sure it has been discussed but what is the ideal catching situation right now. I bombarded my friend because he said Moreno is increasing his trade value because Kirk is there catcher of the future which a lot of guys are saying. In my opinion Kirk should be dh’ing more with Moreno behind the plate but I hate the idea of having three catchers on the bench. Do 1 of them need to be traded or am I overthinking. I think Moreno is going to be much better then Kirk overall and not a base clogger. But Kirk does have a good bat. I’m not sure what the answer is. You don’t call Moreno up and not have him catch 3 out of the 5 starts in my opinion or you might as well have him in AAA. What is the boards feel on this. I should let it be known that I do have a hard on for Moreno so my view could be skewed

I would say Moreno is the catcher of the future. Kirk is awesome, but Moreno is just so damn athletic.

But I would keep both for a while and let them alternate C/DH but the Jays use the DH for the endless rest day rotation and seem hesitant to have the back up catcher already in the starting line up.

I like Jansen too, but I'd say the farthest he makes it as a Jay now is next off season. Decent chance he's dealt this summer in a package for another starter IMO.
