wilko Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Gross. I don’t think we ever had a lineup look this bad last year.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Why is Vladdy out of the lineup? Probably giving him a rest after fouling the ball off his foot yesterday.
Signal Verified Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Probably giving him a rest after fouling the ball off his foot yesterday. Yes, that makes sense. Forgot about that. Thanks!
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Too bad Collins can't play 1B. That alone would make the lineup look better.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Tapia batting cleanup is either massive incompetence or an epic troll job by Buntoyo. I know "he's just a puppet" is starting to gain some traction here, but there's no chance any analytics team, Blue Jays or otherwise, would recommend this lineup construction. Even if they feel Tapia has some untapped potential (his statcast numbers have trended forward this season so far to his credit), at least wait until it translates to on field success.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Too bad Collins can't play 1B. That alone would make the lineup look better. Charlie definitely chooses bad times to rest guys.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Will this be yet another 4 game series we end up splitting with a division rival? Seems like we almost never win 3 of 4 in these things. Not looking good for today already.
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Collins at 1b and LF as a sub would be most useful.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Charlie definitely chooses bad times to rest guys. Well I think this is the plan with Springer. He's going to DH a lot and he's going to do it on day games after night games especially. That's causing some issues with the lineup today but I think it's important to rest him.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Collins at 1b and LF as a sub would be most useful. They showed him and Vladdy working on 1B stuff during the game yesterday.

I totally get that, but why not DH him yesterday and have Collins catching since Kirk needed the day off. Then today you could do Kirk C, Springer CF, Collins DH. Its just poor bench/rest management IMO.

Hard to argue this. I have to think we should have started Zimmer in CF yesterday with Springer at DH and Collins behind the dish. Then you could have put Springer back in CF today and DH'd Collins. Just that alone would have lengthened the lineup a lot more today with Collins hitting 4th and Tapia down at the bottom where he belongs.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I wouldn't mind this move, but the problem is that he is definitely going to get MLB at bats this year, and that is just bad.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Oh good, Whitlock is getting calls off the plate on BOTH sides. Edit, never mind: It looks like this ump is just closing his eyes and guessing. That's always fun.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 How to sum up the Jays season in contrast to last year. 2021 Toronto versus Boston: 9-10 110 runs for 81 runs against 2022 Toronto versus Boston: 5-2 24 runs for 19 runs against

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 It would be nice if you could add Given by Umpire runs. Just for the jays against Boston? Prior to todays game it was +1.22 runs in Toronto's favour over the 6 games. Dont have todays data yet Last season totaled +1.06 runs in favour of Boston.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 3 for 3 with a run scored and two steaks, so far.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2022 Author Posted April 29, 2022 3 for 3 with a run scored and two steaks, so far. T-bone or Ribeye?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 T-bone or Ribeye? Ribeye man, you know that.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Ribeye man, you know that. Nothing beats a ribeye!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Nothing beats a ribeye! My favorite has always been the butter seared ribeye at Ruths Chris.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Filet > Ribeye Ribeye Steak/s, as in a baseball term for RBI, meat!
Signal Verified Member Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Filet > Ribeye No, a good ribeye is better than a filet. The fat makes a ribeye the better tasting steak. Hell there is a reason why some feel the need to wrap bacon around a filet. Filet is tender but no where as tasty as a good ribeye.
