Well that agency just cost themselves millions and millions by not signing one of the offers before the lockout lol

Who can blame him? It's been like 47 days since anyone made an offer to him

Jomboy's growth has been insane the last few years.

Happy to see JM's growth. They genuinely love baseball, created the type of video content that appeals to all ages, took over a market that was bordering on non existent (national baseball media), and turned it into a big time company. Good for them.

I wonder if they bought the Astros something to thank them for putting Jomboy on the map. The trash can breakdown was massive for them.

Tbf, he was getting massive before the Astros scandal, but that video certainly helped.

That was the first time I heard of Jomboy and have been following and loving their s*** every since. I suspect they would have grown without it, but they got a s*** ton of exposure from that breakdown.

And to think, he really only spent the time searching through old footage for trash can banging because he is a salty Yankees fan.

If Jomboy was a Cardinals fan, does he even bother putting so much time into the investigation and do the Astros even get caught/punished??

No because he would be a true Cardinal. #freestubbyclapp

Great question - would anyone else have done the research and exposed the Astros?

According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, the Rays' plan to split their seasons between Tampa Bay and Montreal "has been killed by Major League Baseball officials."

Rays ownership has been pumping up this project for more than two years, and Topkin notes that MLB's decision to suddenly put an end to it frustrated and stunned team officials. The organization's focus, per Topkin's sources, will now shift toward building a new permanent home in the Tampa Bay area. There had been chatter about full-on relocation before the wonky split-city concept began to take shape in 2019. The current lease agreement at Tropicana Field is set to expire at the conclusion of the 2027 season.

Lol. Ok so lets say by 2025 they get a new stadium. Maybe.

How many years of poor attendance before they finally decide to relocate? 5 years after that?

2025 - new stadium opens

2030 - team moves cities

Sounds like a great waste of time, resources and money.

Tampa should not have a team but I can't see any more teams in Canada due to Pandemic fears and the problems associated. The chance for another team in Montreal is probably gone

Is there any guarantee that Montreal would be a successful location?

They might actually draw alright if they actually move to Tampa. I'd prefer they just relocate to Montreal though.

This. No league is going to expand into Canada ever again.

Ontario is extending crowd capacity limits for another month LOL

Major League Baseball is expanding its automated strike zone experiment to Triple-A.

It's one step closer to the automated zone being implemented in the majors. According to the Associated Press, several Triple-A teams have posted job postings seeking seasonal employees to operate the system. Last year, the "robot umpires" at home plate were used in eight of the nine ballparks in the Low-A Southeast League. It's likely other MiLB leagues will use the system, as well.

I don't think the pandemic response will factor into the long terms plans for any sports league.

Agreed. Maybe when the pandemic is way in the rear view, it might become a possibility again, but I tend to agree we have seen the end of major sports teams in Canada other than what already exists for the foreseeable future. MLB in particular, look at what the Jays have gone through in 2020-21, and what they still figure to go through in 2022. At least the Jays are owned by Rogers and can swallow that type of revenue hit, but I don't think anyone in MLB wants to add another Canadian team and have to go through the same issues any time soon.

This is the greatest news in the history of baseball news - every user should be liking this post! Automated strike zone in MLB in 2023?

Does the automatic system account for players having different squatting positions? How about if they change their squat "on-the-fly" like Puig in the image below?

Definitely "no" to the second part. It does not care about stance changes, nor should it per the rules.

I think it just uses player height and that's the only input but I don't know where I read that. It does not like, laser measure their knees and nipples.

I would think the system would measure the players automatically when walking up, then set the strike zone as if they were standing straight up. You could squat if you wanted to, but it wouldn't affect the zone. Since that makes too much sense though...
