Gunnar Henderson three walks and a homer tonight

The Os could be actually good next year. Their top 5 or 6 hitters will be about as good as ours

Maybe the sophmore jinx will get them next year.

Pitching regression and Grayson Rodriguez scuffling would be enough to keep them mediocre

I’m thinking they spend this offseason though

They are where the Jays were in 2019 payroll and timeline wise, except they'll be coming off of an 85 win year, not 65. They have like a 40 million dollar payroll and should be able to raise that substantially.

Crazy fact. Adley Rutchman is a year older than Kirk, and a month older than Bo Bichette. Yet he has 6 more years of control after this year.

It will be interesting to see where Henderson fits in. If he's the second baseman, replacing Odor that is potentially 4 wins right there, and their ss and 3b are solid defensively, but getting killed by the park.

Their park is freak show though. Not sure how they ever attract a right handed hitting slugger. They have enough payroll for Judge probably but no way he comes to that park, even if he would come to a rising Orioles team otherwise. I wonder if the freakshow park will hurt them in the long run? I guess they are clever and will build the team around left handed hitters.

Kevin Gaussman/Alex Manoah/Ross Stripling/Jose Berrios

It's 2022. Which 4 do you want for a tough 2 month playoff race + a deep run in post season?

I've heard differently tbh, I work somewhere that is effectived by this policy and we just heard last week from higher ups that it's going to be in place for still TBD amount of time.

This post didnt age well, I guess the higher ups only think they know everything.

I take the Blue Jays top two, though overall the Mariners have a deeper/stronger rotation #1-4. If Berrios was himself, then it would be a close call.

True that. They're going to get an outfielder in the off season to round out their team. Not sure if they will open their pockets though, the Angelos family are always calling for a salary cap. Their infield will be something to see over the next couple of years: C - Adley Rutschman, 1B - Ryan Mountcastle, 2B - Ramón Urías, SS - Jorge Mateo, 3B - Gunnar Henderson They look solid. Boston may stay in the basement for years to come.:P

The 21 games of postseason experience in our rotation vs 1 for Seattle is an important factor for me. It always shows in the playoffs at some point.

We can discuss top 4, but top 3 is all that matters for either team and that's clearly advantage Blue Jays. Gausman and Manoah are the two best pitchers that either team has to offer, without question. Also, how can we forget Stripling's performance since June 1st? It's been better than any Seattle starter in terms of ERA and FIP. I'm not saying he is better, but the performance has been there.

Two games with a pitching advantage and a Grand Canyon sized offensive advantage, probably at home? I know who my money is on.

When the Giants won their first World Series in 2010, how much postseason experience did their rotation have?

If an injury happens to one of the Jays top two starters, they feel it more than the Mariners if they lose one of their Top 4 guys in the Postseason. Regardless, in a short series anything can happen. Like I said I prefer Gausman and Manoah as a Top 2 but doesn't mean the Jays are a lock for a win every time they step out onto the mound. As well, the Blue Jays have to either start Berrios or Stripling in Game 3 or maybe a Game 4 (if we're talking about a 7 game series) depending on the off-days in the series. So if a team like the Mariners took one game off Gausman or Manoah, I think they have the advantage in that series moving forward.

Overall, I do consider the Blue Jays the better team all around to make a deep run in the Postseason. I wouldn't write the Mariners off though in a 3 game series however, or even the Rays.

I most certainly wouldn't write the Rays off. They have as much playoff experience as any team and a huge amount of versatility. Nobody should want to face them.

Judge?

I thought that, but he's already complained about the park. It really is ridiculous. I've no problem moving the fences to help pitchers a but they left the right field fence the same, and moved left 40 feet back and 30 up.

That dude should learn to fact check, that's last season, lol. Though Pirate fans are waiting for that prick Nutting to open his wallet, don't blame them.

Adley and Gunnar obviously look great, but I'm not sold on Urias, Mateo or Mountcastle being above average starters for the next 2-3 years.

Yeah Urias and Mateo are stop gaps.

Henderson - Stud

Rutschman - Stud

Mullins - above average CF, two way player, controlled through 2025

Santander - average OF, good hitter, controlled through 2024

Mountcastle - close to average, good hitter, controlled through 2026

Hays - average OF, controlled through 2025

Stowers - some thump, could be useful

Cowser - 50 FV CF prospect MLB ready in 2023, all star ceiling

They are set up for a multi-year window of having a competitive offense.

I think they do need to sign a shortstop. Jordan Westburg sounds like a fringe SS and Mateo would just be a lot better as the 10th man playing all over rather than a locked in starter.

And we have said enough good things about their pitching development already this year.

Like, the Orioles look sooooooooo much better than the Red Sox going forward haha. They are scary.

Did they have a rain delay last night as well? Could be the reason why the ballpark was completely empty. People left likely and a lot of people don't even bother going down to a game when the weather is crap and that limits the number of walkups especially for a ballpark with no roof. Plus, its the Reds and Pirates we're talking about at the end of September haha.

Also, it was Monday Night Football.

Not only their pitching, but some bats in their lineup like Randy Arozarena scare me in a short series.

I hear there might be some free agent Shortstops available in the upcoming offseason.

Dont forget Trea Turner, Tim Anderson, Dansby Swanson.

Wow, that's a lot, f***ing pitching dammit! *yells at cloud*

Mind you, I doubt any of them are in play considering our MIF.

Happy Paolo Espino Day everybody!

Lets see it he can set the record for most innings pitched without recording a win in a season tonight!
