Mariners have the payroll space and the motivation

Baltimore has the payroll space too and 8 WAR would be useful to them.

lol. No way either side would bother though because of the freakshow ball park. I assume Judge doesn't want to play in that park.

I wonder if the Orioles will regret creating the freakshow park? I mean there was a compromise between moving the left field fence 40 feet back and 30 feet up and keeping it the way it was.

Maybe they could have moved it 15 feet back and 5 feet up?

Oh well, I assume their plan is to just stack the team with left handed hitters, though watching Henderson I wonder if he'll lose 4 or 5 opposite field shots...

Probably not, just get them all to pull the ball like men. I guess they'll skip Judge and go for Soto in a couple of years.

San Diego haha

I think Judge signs with the Giants or Dodgers. Mets can be a dark horse as well. He signs with a big market team IMO.

Any contract will be above $300M total for sure.

Judge would look great in Dodger Blue. Hes having one the best walk years ever.

Im just hyped for bearded Aaron judge in 2023 crushing dingers in a different division

Why though? Seems obvious to pitch around him if nobody is on base

Think of Judge as post-ASB Chapman but is locked in to crush every mistake pitch.

rarely chases any borderline/off pitch leading to deep counts, and if it comes together, he'll mash it; if it doesn't, he'll K.

He has always been a really good hitter but had some chase to him; this year, he just said f*** that. His plate discipline has been on point.

Happy for Rowdy.

He's so happy and loved there to, for obvious reasons, it's great. Jays did him a solid too, as he knew he had no room for play and asked for a trade. Was a good trade at the time too.

So, he took the bold step of sitting down with Blue Jays GM Russ Atkins to discuss his future.

"I told him, 'Hey, I love my organization, I love my team, I love everything about it here. But at some point I want to further my career,' " Tellez recalled last week before facing his former team for the first time. “I didn't specifically say, 'Hey, Ross, I want to be traded.' I did not say that. But I said, 'If there's a chance, I believe in myself more than being in triple-A."

A few days later, the Blue Jays sent Tellez to Milwaukee and the rest is history.

“I've definitely had a smile on my face all day today. I get to see all the guys I came up with, coaching staff that I dealt with. I spent a lot of time with the major-league staff even before I got to the big leagues. It's just good to see everybody again,” Tellez said. “As soon as I walked out there [on the field,] everybody was wearing me out. Nothing new. It's just really good to see the guys

Along with establishing himself as a key member of the Brewers' core, Tellez has also endeared himself to the local fans who've made a habit of chanting his name every time he comes to the plate.

The chants etched themselves into franchise history last fall when Tellez homered in Game 1 of the NL Division Series against Atlanta, a blast that drove the sold-out crowd into a frenzy and resulted in a curtain call.

The cheers returned Sunday when Tellez bashed home runs in back to back at-bats against his old team, while helping his new team to a 10-3 victory.

All in all, it’s not too bad for a former 30th-round draft pick.

“Coming here, it’s just been kind of a blessing,” Tellez said after that game. “Everybody wants to be somewhere where they can hear their name chanted and be wanted. It’s just great. The fans are awesome here. They’re loyal. I couldn’t ask for a better environment to be in.”

Props to the Jays and Ross Atkins. It's one of those trades you're happy about for good reasons though. Not because Tellez was awful or wanted to leave. Giving him an opportunity rather than rotting on the bench or in Buffalo. Tellez approached the Jays FO the right way and nice to see Atkins delivering. From a PR perspective, MLB players definitely take notice.

He's going to want more than $300m overall, and likely wants to be the highest paid position player in AAV, so I'll go with 9/350. If I had to guess a team, I'd say the Giants. I don't think the current Red Sox FO is going to sign a contract like that, and Cohen's going to have to replace practically his entire rotation next season (deGrom in particular), as well as dealing with FA for Diaz and Nimmo, so there's going to be a limit to what he can spend. Dodgers don't need him. Angels are trash and need to re-sign Ohtani, plus they might be sold, so I'd rule them out. I don't think Cashman wants to go that high, but if Judge breaks the non-roid HR record and wins the triple crown, then there's a good chance Cashman/Hal get run down by an angry mob if Judge leaves.

From a branding standpoint, I think Judge would be foolish to leave the Yankees. He is much more marketable as a Yankee than as anything else, but that may not be important to him. I'd say it's going to be the Giants or Yankees, but I'd lean towards the Giants.

What is this non-roided HR record? Steroids were out when Roger Maris hit his 61.

Looks like Friday's Apple TV lineup has both the Yankees game and the Cardinals game, and MLB is not going to move them. So if you want to watch Judge possibly breaking/tying the AL HR record and Pujols possibly getting his 700th home run (assuming they don't get to those milestones earlier), then you'll have to watch it on Apple. To be fair, there was no way MLB could have had the foresight to predict this when they made the schedules, but they better hope neither of those milestones happen on Apple. Melanie Newman having to make a record breaking call that will be replayed for decades would be a travesty.
