I did boil it down to one sentence. All I said at first was Soto is 5.9 fWAR per 162, and Bichette was 5.1.

Some people think Soto should be farther ahead, so just went over the ways Soto is better and the ways Bo is better and asked if it makes sense that they are that close...

I got you Olerud, point well made, position flexibility is key in fWAR, and in watching Soto a lot he's terrible.

Jacob deGrom breaks 108-year-old MLB record in Mets win

deGrom now has the most consecutive starts allowing no more than four earned runs since earned runs became a stat in 1913.

Jim Scott previously held the record for more than 100 years as he accomplished the feat from June 1, 1913, to June 4, 1914.

The last time deGrom allowed at least four earned runs in a game was back on Sept. 3, 2019.

In his last 103 starts (dating back to 2017), he has a 1.98 ERA and 888 strikeouts. He and Clayton Kershaw are the only pitchers in baseball history with a span of such numbers.

He has not had a season ERA over 2.50 since 2017.

The Mets earned their 93rd win of the season on Sunday behind deGrom's 13 strikeouts and two-RBI days from Jeff McNeil and Daniel Vogelbach. It's their most wins since their NL East-winning 97 wins in 2006.

Drafted in the 4th round in 2020, AA has to be quite pleased with that pick.

This season by Judge is f***ing incredible. wRC+ of 210? Unreal. Since 1961, only a roided up Bonds has surpassed that number. Between this and Ohtani's 2021 year, we are witnessing 2 of the greatest single seasons of our lifetime.

For context on Judge's season... Goldschmidt is wrecking the world with the bat and is still more than 3 fWAR behind him (some of that is defense related).

I must say that I love seeing Goldy s*** all over the NL. The guy is criminally underrated and continues to be a beast. If he ages well, he's going into the HOF.

It's just comical that he's also kicked in 16 SB to date this season.

It's so tragic that STL gave up virtually nothing in trade and landed Arenado and Goldschmidt. They also get competitive blanace picks every year, yet still spend towards the top of the league. If their fanbase wasn't such a giant pool of s*** I could almost admire the team.

And plus defense including 72 games in CF lmao

If he runs wild one game Judge could pull off the first 60/20 season in MLB history

Truly Bondsian

Wow why don't you guys tickle his balls while you're at it? Dude is having a good roided-up walk year but come playoff time he's going to fold like a cheap suit just like the rest of the Yankees currently are when they face the Jays.

well yeah of course

i don't even think they get to the Jays though

AL#2 plays the winner of AL#3 and AL#6 (likely Cleveland and Seattle)

Yanks choke against J-Rod and the M's SPs

Toronto beats Tampa, Houston, Seattle, and the Dodgers to win the WS.

Yeah I’m down with that, except for playing the Mariners. They have owned us this year. I don’t want to play Seattle.

Well we need a team that is a) good enough to beat NYY but B) lame enough to choke against Toronto

I can't see Cleveland beating the Yanks

Mariners have the payroll space and the motivation

Why though? Seems obvious to pitch around him if nobody is on base

well he has a good eye and forces hitter's counts

also, he has the biggest strikezone in baseball so the heart of his zone is also the biggest lol

He's going to want more than $300m overall, and likely wants to be the highest paid position player in AAV, so I'll go with 9/350. If I had to guess a team, I'd say the Giants. I don't think the current Red Sox FO is going to sign a contract like that, and Cohen's going to have to replace practically his entire rotation next season (deGrom in particular), as well as dealing with FA for Diaz and Nimmo, so there's going to be a limit to what he can spend. Dodgers don't need him. Angels are trash and need to re-sign Ohtani, plus they might be sold, so I'd rule them out. I don't think Cashman wants to go that high, but if Judge breaks the non-roid HR record and wins the triple crown, then there's a good chance Cashman/Hal get run down by an angry mob if Judge leaves.

From a branding standpoint, I think Judge would be foolish to leave the Yankees. He is much more marketable as a Yankee than as anything else, but that may not be important to him. I'd say it's going to be the Giants or Yankees, but I'd lean towards the Giants.

Dodgers don't need him.

Dodgers non-Betts outfielders are their weakest position players. So for sure there is a fit there.

I mean they have to also resign/replace Turner, and I guess probably hit the salary cap and stuff, and maybe 110 wins is enough so they don't need more players.

But if they want to blow through the salary cap and challenge the 2001 Mariners there is a need in the outfield for them.
