glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Passan goes over the contract in a series of tweets.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 (edited) Here's the details: Here's a breakdown of the deal, according to Passan: The length of the deal could be eight, 13, 16 or 18 years. the deal will last at least eight years (including 2022) and guarantee Rodríguez $210 million, but it can max out at 18 years and $470 million The guaranteed portion of the deal runs through 2029, but Seattle must either pick up or decline a club option at the end of the '28 season. Rodríguez's placement in AL MVP balloting (wins and finishes) will determine whether the club option will be for eight or 10 years, and the value will be between $200 million and $350 million. The guaranteed value of the deal will be $320 million if the Mariners pick up the option. If the club option is declined after 2028, Rodríguez can exercise a player option after '29 that will be worth $90 million over five years. If both the club option and player option are declined, Rodríguez would become a free agent at the age of 29 in the 2029-30 offseason. Also, full no trade clause. Edited August 26, 2022 by John_Havok

That's a crazy bad deal for the Mariners.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 The extension is done... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/mariners-extend-julio-rodriguez.html
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 lol... that needs to be revised.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Kwan just jumped into the crowd for an amazing catch.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 The Braves pitcher Stephens just took a comebacker off the forehead... fugly.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 lol... that needs to be revised. Why? It’s like a guy nailing a game time tying shot after the shot clock in basketball. Or in football when there’s an electric TD that gets called back for something that effected play, or didn’t effect the play. Part of sports man. Either you have the rule, or you don’t. Pretty clear. It’s a dead ball. Obviously if they play though the dead ball and it’s a HR or game tying hit, or a strikeout/out.. it’s going to be moment like that.

No it's stupid, why should the team batting get f***ed because of a pitcher's error?

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) Oof... Mariners going to win this here, me thinks. This stream is going to a coaching interview? On to the 11th... I guess Seattle are going to just walk J-Ram to start the inning. Sheeeeeeit... M's win. Edited August 27, 2022 by Spanky99
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Kyle Bradish 8ip, 2 hits and 6 Ks against the Astros in Houston. Orioles win 2-0. Wtf are the Orioles
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 This is cool technology and quick, we should have this as soon as next year...
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 lol... that needs to be revised. Just add the ability to decline, like in football.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 This is cool technology and quick, we should have this as soon as next year... That seems like a perfect compromise
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Author Posted August 27, 2022 That seems like a perfect compromise As long as there isn't some stupid limit on the number of challenges.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 That seems like a perfect compromise Shouldn't need to compromise getting the call right.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Os up by 3 on Houston. Go O's! They are a fun team to cheer for. No business being where they are. I would love to see them do something like force a tie breaker on us or something. Game 163.

So Os would probably win the tiebreak due to H2H record. f*** that
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Astros score 1 run off the Os in 2 games, Jays score 0 off the Angels in 2 games. What the f*** is happening lol

So Os would probably win the tiebreak due to H2H record. f*** that Don’t underestimate Baltimore. They have a deadly closer and solid pitching all around. Hard throwing right handers who will dominate the Jays all righty line up (low and away). I’m expecting them to blow past Toronto in September. Remember Jays play Baltimore 10 times and my prediction is 3-7 or 4-6 record at best. Jays need a more balanced lineup which will need to wait the off season at this point.

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Ayyy, As win. Mariners look like they are going to win though.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Zimmer DFA'd again Geez, took his new team how many days to DFA him? Shows you the Jays keep the leashes way too long on some guys.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Alcantra throwing 100 in the 9th. 2-1 complete game win over LAD. What a freak, in a good way.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Astros score 1 run off the Os in 2 games, Jays score 0 off the Angels in 2 games. What the f*** is happening lol Baseball. Unfortunately we have 68 wins and the Astros have banked 81. They can afford these kinds of strange outcomes. Less so for us. We need to take advantage of Rays and M losses, Especially against the Angels. Ohtani was great but Angels not exactly known for their pitching lol. We did zero against a very middle of the road pen arm for last 6 outs. Need a W today.
Johnny King Vancouver Canadians - A+ LHP He took the Loss, but the 19-year-old southpaw gave up one run on five hits and a walk in five innings on Wednesday night. Explore Johnny King News >
