Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Took Gibby less than 24 hours! Who isn't blocked by Stro? The guy's skin is as thick as my 93 year old grandma's. A strong gust of wind and she's bleeding.

It's the ultimate irony of Stroman's ******** lines he's always spewing about "say what you want, it just fuels me..." blah blah blah, then blocks anyone who says anything even remotely negative. He probably just blocked Gibby thinking it wasn't the real one, or knew it was the real one and did it as a joke. I doubt Stroman has any hate on for Gibby. Who could possibly hate John Gibbons?

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Stroman is a sensitive little twat

glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Yeah my guess is Stroman didn't realize that was actually Gibbons, but who knows with him.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 German vs Scherzer Good luck with that
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Looks like DeGrom was scratched for Walker tomorrow though
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Stroman is the biggest beta male in the MLB.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Would love to see Scherzer get his 200th win today And he will almost certainly pass Pedro for 12th on the all time strikeout list
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Done Strikes out Judge for career strikeout 3155
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Lol Rizzo telling the Umps to f*** off right to their face and getting away with it
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Didn't even look like a full swing by Vogelbach
Ray Verified Member Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Pujols hit another homer! At 693 for his career. He’s been one of the best stories in baseball this year.

He’s been one of the best stories in baseball this year. 141wRC+ on the season. His highest since… 2011, BEFORE he signed the LA contract. Unreal. The Cardinals have been using him exceptionally well and he’s found the fountain of youth somewhere in St. Lou.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Yadi Molina has had Jordan Montgomery increase his 4S usage from 8 to 28% and the results have been phenomenal, I wonder if that trend continues. Yadi's a boss, that's why Waino doesn't wave a pitch off, ever. Him and Martin, smartest catchers I've ever seen defensively. Last night wasn't just a Pujols night, Jordan Montgomery CG 1 hit 7K SO and a game score of 98... he's becoming an ace, me thinks. Check out his stats since joining the Cards... https://www.fangraphs.com/players/jordan-montgomery/16511/game-log?position=P&season=

Bader hasn't even played for them yet and likely will be just be on the bench.

Yeah, I liked that trade for the Jays... Bader's supposed to play CF everyday though, for his D. Hicks will be the odd man out.

If he qualified, he'd be 14th in MLB, ahead of Mookie, Vlad, Ohtani, Alonso and Buxton. Insane.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Yadier Molina is expected to rejoin the Cardinals on Monday. Molina was away from the club over the weekend as he needed to head back to Puerto Rico for "business reasons". Those reasons happened to be a professional basketball team that the veteran backstop owns in Puerto Rico was playing for the Baloncesto Superior Nacional championship. Yep. It has been a strange season to say the least for Molina. Did I miss the discussion on how Yadi left the team to go watch his basketball team play in Puerto Rico, while the Cards are in the middle of a playoff race? Seems bizarre.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Yadi is the Cards. He does what he wants

That is extremely odd, and fairly disrespectful to his Cardinals teammates IMO.

Seems like a lock for 1st ballot HOF yet his career fWAR(not the be all end all at C) is 55 - the same as Russel Martin, who rarely if ever, gets a HOF mention. Kind of sums it up. Some players for whatever reason (playoff performance - gold gloves etc etc) just seem to get elevated in status. Some get the opposite. Big Papi was in the same class as Yadi, getting into HOF even though tied credibly to PEDs at one point.
