connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Team's under 500 lol. You stallion. About to be around .500 now Inshallah:) I was like 40 below or something fierce when wager was made
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Anyone else watching deGrom do unspeakable things to the Braves?

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 DeGrom is currently showcasing an 80 slider with 80 command. He's thrown 20 sliders that the Braves have swung at. The first 18 were swinging strikes and the last 2 were fouled.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 The Royals, who rank 27th in runs scored, put up 29 runs in the series against s***** Boston pitching. Holding onto a valuable contingent of impending free agents to add to a team with some of the worst pitching in the league and a mediocre at best farm system was one of the most head scratching deadline decisions we have ever seen. I'm pleased to watch it blow up in their face so quickly.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Dodgers up 2 - 0 against Padres; if it holds, they will sweep the new Padres

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 You love to see it. Thanks Cardinals.

BlueJays Verified Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Jays are 9.5 GB. That is something.
John Balkabella Verified Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Dodgers still the Padres Daddy.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Dodgers sweep the Soto Padres. Can't blame Soto. He had 5 hits, 3 walks, and 0 K's.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Padres continue to be a laughing stock
John Balkabella Verified Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Padres talking about moving Tatis Jr to CF, at least on a part time basis, when he comes back.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Padres 5 SP all over 30 next season, all with injury history - and little depth. Darvish will turn 37 a year from now. They effectively have until end of 2024 when Soto hits free agency to win. I expect it all to end badly.

They gave up A LOT for him.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 How stupid do they look if they don’t get past the NLCS before Soto walks?? They gave up A LOT for him. Preller is desperate. He knows the age profile of his starting pitching..... window is getting shorter. I can see Preller getting canned and Soto traded as a rental in 2024.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 I'm handing out 1-week bans for any posts after this that are about covid and not baseball. Thank you. Please enforce this with ruthless abandon.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Let me give you mods good advice and take your victory for eliminating the politics discussions. Seems everyone has moved past that. You won’t kill the Covid discussion. Intersects too much with baseball and everyday life. Even mods hop in. You should just take a “The Purge” style approach and let people duke it out in an OT thread. Transfer posts there. People will get the picture "Let me give you mods good advice"...that's funny s***. You voted your advice as "good advice". Super helpful that you let us all know in advance that it was good advice. I honestly would not have read it if you hadn't already let us know that it was good advice.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Padres continue to be a laughing stock Just the other day, weren't some posters on here saying the Padres team was such a fun team to watch? Haha
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Ooof It's okay. If he did that in his debut with the Blue Jays, fans would give him a free pass.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Anyone else watching deGrom do unspeakable things to the Braves? Watched the Mets/Braves after the Jays game was finished. deGrom was dealing. If he could just stay healthy, he's the best arm in baseball IMO.

Glad to have a fan:) Nice to hear. Here’s some good advice for you: don’t take things so serious. I know the world is almost ending with Covid, climate change, and Republican attacks on freedom.. but just breathe in some positive energy and let it flow. You’re welcome. Maybe I’ll start a book

Read this today… The performance gave him 1,523 career strikeouts—the most ever through a pitcher’s first 200 career games in MLB history.
