Didn't Toronto players want to all sacrifice a bit of money one year so the team could sign Ervin Santana?

Yes. It was pathetic that the players needed to offer that.

Lol Sox defense just crumbling.

Against the Yankees of course. I’ll take it I guess, its more important that the Redsox lose.

Michael Harris III 4-4 with double and homer tonight. Braves have struck gold.

Dana Brown to replace Atkins please. Brown is such a master of player evaluations it’s disgusting

A couple of weeks ago yardbarker.com had a great article on Dana. I don't think he would move for simply a General Manager role, executive vp minimum.

Yeah

At this point I'm pretty sure we've all conceded that the Yankees are going to win the division.

Having home advantage in the wildcard would be excellent so getting ahead of Tampa and Boston is more important than hoping the Yankees fall back.

He’s the VP of scouting, GM would be a pretty big step up. Besides, here Atkins is Executive Vice President, Baseball Operations & General Manager, so Brown coming here would be exactly what you suggested.

Yeah, I think scouting vp is a tier below executive vp. AA won't let him go though.

It would hopefully be left up to Brown to see if he wanted to pursue a promotion if one was available.

It’s incredibly douchey to stop someone from pursuing a promotion with a different club if a position is available and that club has asked permission to interview one of your employees for it.

Os win against Angels (again; 7-game win streak), 42 - 44 now on the season

As beat Astros

Rays BP blows it to Reds (Poche gives up 2 singles, hits batter, walks the next batter, and then our hero Drury gets a single to tie the game, 3 - 3)

At this point, the Red Sox are planning to be “cautious buyers” at the deadline, a source tells Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe. The 45-39 Sox hold the second AL wild card spot, though a wild card is likely the best they’ll be able to do, given how the Yankees are running away with the division. However, Abraham notes that the Red Sox have an extremely difficult schedule for the rest of July, which could impact their status to the point that the Sox might even consider selling if they fall behind in the postseason race.

Interesting.

That last line sounds like conjecture

I don't imagine anyone in the Red Sox org is thinking like that

Possibly ya. I wonder if they do commit to Josh Bell (seems to be on the top of every Sox fan's list); they need bullpen help as well.

Rays bullpen blowing the lead twice so far. Cinci tied on wp in bottom of 10th. Runner on 2B, 0 outs.

Edit: Cinci wins. Thanks Reds.

Reds complete the comeback. Rays lose

Rizzo & JD Double back to back off Brasier; Yankees lead 3 - 1.

I wanted Rodon so bad this off-season. Sucks the Jays didn’t aggressively pursue him especially when he was not offered a qualifying offer. Imagine giving him the money we gave Kickuhi right now.

f*** Jon Gray would have been nice as well.

So…Rodon would have taken 3/36 vs 2/44 ?

Nah you obviously make up the difference in money lol. Burning 36 million would have been a better decision over signing s*** bag.

Os up 7 - 2 against Angels, looks like they are sweeping them (will be 43 - 44 if they do).

Angels got decimated by AL East this year lol
