Julio Rodriguez, OF, Mariners – Rodriguez did more than just enhance his American League Rookie of the Year candidacy on Monday. He made MLB history. Rodriguez launched a home run into the top deck of the Western Metal Supply Co. Building in the Mariners 8-2 win over the Padres. The two-run blast off of Sean Manaea traveled 429 feet and gave Rodriguez 15 home runs on the season. That number is particularly important. With the blast, Rodriguez reached 15 home runs and 20 stolen bases in his first 81 games, becoming the fastest player in MLB history to reach those numbers.

Could see this easily happening. After putting up a 0 in the HR category in April. He seems to have adjusted well.

Frustrating to see them hit well against us and then s*** the bed against some of the worst pitching in the league.

You need help. Sox are 3rd in ERA this year, Jays 13th this year. Sox are a better pitching team then Jays... if you just mean yesterday, well...

1. Sox minor league starting depth seems better then Jays. Crawford seems OK as a 7th starter or whatever, great k/bb last year in the minors.

2. Sox were clever enough to use an opener in front of their aaa pitcher

Seems like Sox executed well. It's not just luck, they won yesterday because of better depth and better execution. They are a better organization than the Jays.

Hah, that remains to be seen. Currently the Jays are 1.2 fWAR better.

They're 11th in MLB and one spot better than the Jays in fWAR, what's that say about us? lol

Red Sox are way ahead in ERA, which is interesting as they are much closer in fWAR. Sox ERA is 3.54, Jays 4.14 but the xfip is about the same.

Perhaps Jays are unlucky, Red Sox lucky and Jays will be better in the second half, or Sox are doing something repeatable and beating xfip.

I was expecting to see a J-Rod missile, not a Haggerty one, followed by a J-Rod bloop. :P

The SB was expected, this guy's fun to watch, as are the SP in this game.

My god Frazier

That was about as bad as you could boot a ball. Frazier's been underwhelming for them with the stick, he has to field that.

A-rod with the excellent analysis.

The chance Judge signs with Yankees? 50/50. He signs or he doesn't. What a statistician.

This might be one of the worst games I've ever watched.

Big Clev stressing me out, yeah, sloppy game. Certainly not enjoyable, but it's the only game.

With deGrom not far behind, an embarrassment of riches in that rotation.

There was a stretch a few days ago where their IL rotation was:

DeGrom

Scherzer

Bassitt

Megill

Lucchesi

Yeah, Peterson's on paternity leave and Bassitt with Covid, that's a deep rotation. Nice for them, Bosox get Sale and Paxton back in the 2nd half, oof.

Lets be honest, Paxton probably makes 2 starts before another injury. Sale will probably be big for them though

They might struggle at first coming off the IL, but they're a serious threat.

It's been their BP... far better than ours thus far, there's some statistical noise in there, but to say they're the worst in MLB is hyperbole, but that's expected with Grant and the Bosox, lol.
