I tried to squint and see an 85-90 season, because its the A's. Maybe if they keep Manaea and Montas? If those two move, it looks really, really bad. The lineup is awful.

They would need some breakouts, I think. Like Kevin Smith becoming an impact hitter would help. Pache reaching 100 wRC+ with his defense. And a few others like Murphy and Laureano hitting above their projections.

So Oakland is going to be terrible right? Does anyone think this is one of those years where everyone expects them to be terrible and they win 90 games? Go on record now and look like a genius in 6 months!

In 2022, no chance. In 3 years? Somehow they'll find a way to be really good again, while some of the pieces they got in recent trades will be big contributors.

I somewhat expect them to be better than the Rangers and perhaps even the Mariners if things bounce right. Who the hell knows with the Angels, but they probably get 2nd.

I can’t decide if the rotation or lineup are more gross.

The Rangers had one of the most bizarre offseasons in recent memory. They sold out for position players but still have one of the worst pitching staffs in the league. Will likely be a frustrating team to play against. They won't be good but they are annoyingly flawed.

Yeah they really need like, Dane Dunning AND Spencer Howard to be really, really good and I am not sure those are good bets to make.

Yeah the lineup is pretty awful. They need to keep Manaea and Montas or else that rotation is in shambles. They need to add some stopgap guys to their lineup and hope they get lucky with two or three guys.

Manaea and Montas will be moved shortly. They're tanking.

Well, at least he didn't sign with Boston, NYY, or Tampa.

Yanks took on donaldson's contract so the Twins could afford to fit in Correa. Love it

Apparently MLB fans believe Aaron Loup is the 4th best relief pitcher in baseball.

https://t.co/pykb8jO4lF Exclusive: MLB and the PA have agreed to rules that include expanded roster, return of the ghost runner and 9-inning games for double-headers plus a rule for the whole CBA that right now will probably just impact Shohei Ohtani.

Alden González

@Alden_Gonzalez

Can confirm @Joelsherman1’s reporting on new rules, which were agreed to by MLB/MLBPA and are expected to be ratified by owners next week. …

* 28-man rosters in April

* automatic runner on 2B in extras in 2022

* pitcher can remain DH after he’s done pitching thru life of CBA
