Keith Law wanted the Jays to just dump McGuire and promote Samad Taylor to protect him from the Rule 5. There's no Rule 5 this year but I think it highlights how little McGuire is worth. I'm sure the Jays are shopping him. Without a taker they might as well keep him to make sure Jansen and Kirk get through spring without injury but once the season starts they might have to just dump him.

 

Just take the risk on the 50 or 60 games Kirk is the DH?

We need to add one impact reliever. We have pretty much kept the same pen from last year.

Danny Jansen was there to catch all 3 guys.

 

 

Hopefully this private pitching coach isn't just blowing smoke up his own ass and Borucki turns out to be as locked in as he claims.

Grichuk as a 4th OF is the type of depth that elite teams have. Let’s maybe leave the only person capable of playing CF in case of a Springer injury alone. It’s also clear that the industry places zero value on him considering he was almost traded for Jackie Bradley Jr, so he may be more valuable to us as 4th OF than trading him and eating most of that contract.

 

I don’t even like Grichuk that much, but the hateboner for him on here is kind of ridiculous.

Don’t expect to see a lot of George Springer during #Bluejays Grapefruit season. He said that while spring training is important, his goal is to be ready to go April 8th. He’s going to take as many live at-bats as possible here at the complex. Seems he’ll only play occasionally.
