Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Hopefully the rest Springer got was enough. We need him this September but he was struggling to even stay on his feet.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Author Posted September 10, 2021 I wonder if they should have rested Springer a bit more. You can afford to against the Orioles and leadoff placebo Bichette might be the greatest player of all time.

You gotta be looking at these 4 games against the Orioles as 4 wins. Curb stomp approach. I don’t think you want to leave any of these games on the table. We have games in hand but the other teams have already won those games.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Lets go Birds, 12 is the lucky number this weekend... keep it rolling GO JAYS GO!!!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 If he's limping/falling today I'm gonna be pissed Same. Then again, he's been told he can't make the injury worse, if he's near 90% he should be good.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Orioles fans actually rooting to lose this game to secure the tank and flip a finger against the Yankees postseason dreams

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Orioles fans actually rooting to lose this game to secure the tank and flip a finger against the Yankees postseason dreams That is some admirable hatred of the Yankees

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Hopefully they push the orioles s*** in and get Pearson/Merryweather some low leverage to work the kinks out.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 I figured he'd be the extra man for the DH.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Lets go Jays! Dyson and Lamb hmm...at least plus D and hopefully he can drag bunt or BB his way on. Lamb, not sure what he offers yet. He hasn't hit yet, but I prefer Smith at 3B for us, even against RHP. (Well...I guess he is gone)
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Hopefully they push the orioles s*** in and get Pearson/Merryweather some low leverage to work the kinks out. Yup. I saw a lot that was good in Pearson last night. Sanchez hit a decent pitch in off the plate. Tip your cap. I don't know if Pearson was tipping or not but Voit looked like he was sitting on a breaking ball and he hung it badly. Saw good V and 101 away on the black. All in all was promising. I'd throw him right back out there.

He’s had 7 at-bats in a Blue Jays uniform. .333 OBP. Lets give him atleast a couple starts before we decide he’s worthless. Clearly they identified him as someone they feel they can get something out of.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Chicken strip back, just in time to get a start in game 1 tomorrow?

Sure, but he has pretty bad since 2017. and even before that he wasn't great. He hasn't played much 3B and we are in a tight race. Prefer another time for resurrection projects.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Orioles fans actually rooting to lose this game to secure the tank and flip a finger against the Yankees postseason dreams Oh wow I didn't realize that Arizona has a worse record till now Yikes
InvincibleTiger Verified Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Focus must not be lost with us playing the hapless O's. Go Blue Jays!
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Chicken strip back, just in time to get a start in game 1 tomorrow? It's honestly great timing for us. Didn't have to worry about who would be the odd man out between Stripling/Matz and now Stripling can be the long man in the pen.

He hasn't played much 3B and we are in a tight race. Prefer another time for resurrection projects. We don’t have an everyday Third Baseman. So they don’t really have much of a choice. He’s more than fine at Third Base. Hes just utillity role in recent years. When the other option is Valera and Smith did not hit at all during his stint.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Got to stay fundamentally strong..
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Strongly disagree with Springer playing tonight, judging from what we saw of him a few days ago

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Chicken strip back, just in time to get a start in game 1 tomorrow? Looks that way, bruh.
