No, Shatkins f***ed us. Merryweather isn't ready yet but Batman and Robin rushed him up.

Oh there were.

I mean Merryweather has looked like the best RP on the team whenever he has been healthy. I don't really see anything wrong with trying him in the 7th inning of tie game, against a s***** team. The team is probably going nowhere without one of Pearson or Merryweather stepping up in short order as a shut down reliever anyway.

There wasn't anything wrong with that move, there was also gruber blaming Atkins above... wtf? Jays had already announced Julian was going to be used in high leverage situations along with Big Nate, as you mentioned we need these guys or we're f***ed for the most part.

The sample size is not statistically significant but Merryweather has destroyed lefties with his changeup so I prefer him to Saucedo there.

It would maybe be a different story of Toronto had a wicked lefty available. Saucedo isn't that. I guess they could have used Mayza but maybe they wanted to avoid him yesterday.

Yeah, Mayza wasn't available.

I also don't understand why it's being completely overlooked that Merryweather just barely missed making the play on that f***ing chump Mullins' bunt. If the ball doesn't slip out of his glove on that play, nobody scores. If Kirk gets Mullins out at 2nd, the inning probably ends in a tie as well. It wasn't just terrible pitching that resulted in those 3 runs.

That was heads up baserunning by Mullins, Kirk had no chance at 2nd.

They don't sweep tonight and they aren't making the playoffs, if you're going to lose 2 of 3 to the O's you don't belong there. Just like the Yankees don't belong there, if the Jays don't take the spot I hope Seattle or Oakland does because anyone is more deserving than a team that goes 9-7 against the worst team in baseball. The Jays are 8-5, not a whole lot better.. meanwhile the Rays are 18-1.

It seems like this may be hard for you to understand, but playoff seeding is based on a team's record against ALL teams that they play against, not just the games they play vs the Orioles.

It may be hard for you to understand that what they just did against the Yankees is being completely wiped out by choking against the worst team in baseball. This inconsistant 20 mil. a year Ryu is out there getting lit the hell up. This guy is either 6 ip 0 runs or 4 ip 6 runs and flip flops every other start. Maybe they will score enough to overcome him but what a pathetic effort today by him. The A's are going to take the 2nd WC spot.

Do you panic like this every time the Jays lose a single game? The Jays are 11-1 in their last 12 games, and the one loss is the single game loss vs the Orioles. This moronic post certainly aged well after the Jays took both games of the double header on the strength of two dramatic late come from behind victories. Are the A's still taking the 2nd wildcard spot? If you can't fully get behind this Jays team after the insane late season run they've been on then go ahead and starting cheering for the A's like you seem to want to do. I'm sure they have a nice message board that you can sign up as well.

Hindsight is 20/20, I see you waited until they swept the 2 games to come comment. As if you were expecting them to score 11 runs in a 7 inning game after Ryu gave up 7 runs in 2 1/3 which is when I made my post, a game a team would lose 98 % of the time but for this amazing lineup the Jays have that never stops scoring. The sad part is the pathetic Mets and their garbage bullpen also blew a late lead like they always do and let the Yankees win a game they should have lost as well.

I was busy watching the games and didn't comment until afterwards like I usually do. Even so the main point doesn't change, panicking after one loss despite a preceding 8 game winning streak is completely ridiculous. And instead of losing your s*** and ranting and raving before the game is even half over maybe you can smoke a joint or something to relax a little and let the game play out first, especially if you are going to start garbage posting about how one of their rivals is going to take the wild card.

Check post history, this is a man with very little knowledge of the game whilst calling everyone else morons, no need in wasting your time.

I'm guessing we won't hear another peep from this guy about this series and how the A's are playoff bound instead of the Jays.
