Why did Dumbtoyo use Richards/Cimber in this game?

Cause he has to live up to his reputation as the dumbest f-ing mgr who has ever coached

Big series, boys. Brutal way to start off, but these next 2 match-ups are going to be massive statement games. We gotta bounce back and notch at least 1. Would be brutal to come right back outta the break to be swept by the first place team

Of course this loser Stripling is blaming the move and family issues. Always something.

It is odd their lineup magically becomes a juggernaut when he comes back.

It's odd that they are able to "turn it on" just when they need to. Looked like crap against the Yankees then 0 bad swings the first couple of innings? This stuff happens I guess but it wasn't like it was bloops and a blast. Or deep counts, tough pitches fouled off.

All walks and extra base hits, I'm not saying they knew what was coming, but that's exactly how a team would hit if they knew what was coming.

When Ross Stripling can't get ahead of hitters they might as well know what's coming.

Not trying to give the guy too much credit because he obviously cheated, but good managers know how to make a collection of talent a team. Montoyo doesnt know how to do that. Sadly if the Jays win 90 games and just miss the playoffs he may be back.

Montoyo can't just turn some of these arms into good pitchers. Nobody could.

The Grand Slam was on an 0-2 pitch, my tin foil hat isn't too big. Just "asking questions" though. Visitor's clubhouse is in centerfield in Buffalo I believe.

It went double (2-2), home run (2-0), walk (3-2), double (1-1), walk (3-2), homerun (0-2)

then for Kay - single (0-0), homerun (1-1)

I agree. He couldn't command his off speed, wasn't extending on his change up. When your fastball is 91-92 with no movement and MLB hitters are sitting on it, then you're in trouble. Stripling is a fringe starter anyway but has been better since the delivery change. It was just a combination of having a bad night versus a tough offence.

He couldn't spot his fastball on the outer half. Kept yanking it outside. That was a big issue.

I don't like the Red Sox but some of you are acting as if they are just scraping by. They have 3 players with 140-150 wRC+ and the secondary parts of their lineup are almost all above average offensively. Cora might be cheating again, I have no idea, but that's still a very good lineup. Stripling doesn't have great stuff so when he's having an off day he's going to get crushed. It just happens quite a bit against the Red Sox.

This is like 100% opposite of the truth. This is what Charlie is good at. He's taken a collection of talent and really developed it into a team. Vlad, Bo, Teoscar (with help from fans), Semien are all having their first all star seasons under him.

Biggio and Gurriel were struggling a bit at times but Charlie is molding them into helpful team pieces during their struggles.

One Catcher can't hit, the other can't hit, one got caught for indecent exposure and yet Charlie works with them, molding them into the picture.

Have you ever looked at the dug-out and seen the team, teaming? Bonding? Cheering for each other. Having a wonderful great team like attitude?

1. Charlie is great, perhaps the best ever at making a collection of talent a team.

2. Charlie is not good (maybe) at some strategic decisions

3. Charlie was given the worst bullpen of all time (original bullpen he was suppose to have all on 60 day dl) which makes the impression that Charlie is really stupid (when he just is maybe stupid, or maybe not).

Yeah, everyone has made sacrifices, and an MLB millionaire being separated from his family for 2 months shouldn't mentally get to him so much he completely blows a start.

This shouldn't of ever been an issue, and it makes me wonder if he brought it to the teams attention. I bet he didn't. Shapiro seems class, and would of tried to make arrangements to have the family on the road. or give Stripling a mental break if he needed it.

I also wonder why the family can't come August 9th? Unvaxed maybe? If so I wouldn't hold it against him (Pregnant then Nursing wife? Probably safe form what I know, but you could see how someone would hold off)

At the same time, if you aren't vaxed you realistically have less ability to travel internationally. Just the way it is right now.
