This was honestly the worst stretch of losses I think i've ever witnessed from the Jays. That week was so demoralizing.

As for your question, if you just compare something quick like Bullpen WAR here are the numbers:

Yankees: 7.2 WAR

Tampa: 7 WAR

Seattle: 7 WAR

Boston: 4.7 WAR

Oakland: 1.5 WAR

Toronto: 1.4 WAR (25th in all of baseball)

And that made the difference. Bullpen definitely sunk the season early on.

f*** that's so disgusting.

Just so weird. Unless certain pitchers have told Montoyo they are more comfortable throwing to Reese, this is troubling.

Lets not forget Kirk is a double A catcher.

I mean... Reese is the best defensive catcher we have, but it's not so clear cut that his wiffle bat should be in the lineup over the other 2.

Thought Jano is better defensively.

Joe Siddal is one of the best analysts the Jays have ever had. He is friggin awesome. That is all...

He and Zaunie are on par, for fun, atleast!

Polanco up to 87 AB's with the Bison's, rocking a 1.157 OPS

20% K-rate and 8 homers

I wonder if the Jays can salvage this guy? He's 30 years old now

He comes from the Pirates so he will be a superstar next season.

He could potentially end up getting some reps as a DH if the Jays bring him back next season and he keeps hitting in AAA. He is poor defensively.

Is this wording correct?

Vladimir Guerrero Jr has tied the record for most home runs hit by anyone in major league history up to age 22

It's ok gents. Because we will at least have these fond memories to think back on:

Grichuk - excellent bubble blower!!

Montoyo - MOY candidate!!

No. He’s now hit the most.

This sucks. Two MVP level bats. Three other all star caliber bats in Bichette and Teo and Springer. Solid depth in the rest of the lineup.

A starting rotation that was genuinely five deep. A bullpen that was becoming more solid.

And no playoffs anyways. Brutal underperformance based on our run differential. This is gonna sting for a while.

Ray has to be back. Have to make sure we replace Semien with something comparable at least, cause that's 7 WAR.

I mean if we even improve the bullpen by 3-4 WAR overall from where it is over a season, that's a good chunk of Semien's replaced.

Plus Springer not missing half of the season. I honestly don’t think replacing Semien’s offense should be the focus. Yeah it sucks to lose him but upgrading the D, and the pen can be done for cheaper than re-signing him

Pens can always be iffy even when you get guys who have been reliable in the last. Never know who's gonna decide that it's time to become a pumpkin. And who's gonna suddenly become elite.

Its not reasonable to replace Semien in a single player for sure. Springer hopefully being healthy should help. His bat is showing no signs of decline. But someone at 2B or 3B who can put up 3-4 WAR is definitely going to be super important. Especially in this stupid ass division.

Hmmm.....

f*** him. He can take a long hard suck on my ass, and then he can f*** off.

If the Jays are losing Ray, then they could do a hell of a lot worse than Stroman as the replacement, but no chance it happens.

Stroman is about as steady of a number 2/3 starter as you can get. He's put up those numbers incredibly consistently 4 of the last five years. If he wasn't annoying he'd obviously be a welcome addition.

I’d be open to it if you can get him for the right $, he has the attitude I want to pitch in this division, only thing that worries me is that he becomes a negative distraction.
