Laika Community Moderator Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 So you're saying I shouldn't start him in the DDL today? You might want to start him if you plan on punting all of your pitching ratios anyway

What's been the best team to miss the playoffs the last decade or so? If this years Jays don't make it they'd rank up there with anyone I think given both their lineup and pitching rotation are top tier.

Jinx A jinx, in popular superstition and folklore, is a curse or the attribute of attracting bad or negative luck. The word "jynx" meaning the bird wryneck and sometimes a charm or spell has been in use in English since the seventeenth century. The modern spelling and connotations developed late in the nineteenth century.

MLB will no doubt try to rig it to get that Yankees-Red Sox WC game but the Jays are too good to let it happen.

That reminds me yesterday when I was looking at a new company coming in to challenge eBay and Amazon called Ethair. They had a signup security question thing you type in, and the text was "gh pussy". There's no way in hell that was random chance. I didn't sign up.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Blue Jays reinstate Merryweather https://www.thescore.com/s/18924313 It's happening folks. Would be great to get him into a low leverage situation first.

Could see Pearson and Merryweather in big spots today.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Cimber should also be available Yeah and Richards who could be used in a big spot as well if necessary though I wouldn't normally use him in that way. My guess is Mayza, Soria and probably Romano aren't available. That leaves Richards, Merryweather, Cimber, Pearson and Saucedo. Not sure how I would stack that group up. Probably like this: CL: Cimber SU: Pearson SU: Merryweather MR: Richards LOOGY: Saucedo

Probably like this: CL: Cimber SU: Pearson SU: Merryweather MR: Richards LOOGY: Saucedo Honestly I think everyone except maybe Mayza should be available with a lead. I'm a little more worried about the bullpen composition if a starter gets knocked out early. Our long man right now is Saucedo. It's probably time to option Smith or DFA Valera for more flexibility. We have like three guys covering 3B and they all suck.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 So when we win home field for the WC who would everyone prefer to face? The Red Sox or the Mariners?
Bluebombers Verified Member Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 I think I prefer seattle
InvincibleTiger Verified Member Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Red Sox. Seems we have trouble versus M's
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 So when we win home field for the WC who would everyone prefer to face? The Red Sox or the Mariners? Sale could be tough, but our lineup would have a field day with the rest of Boston's awful, awful pitching staff.
