Can Panik not feel better so quickly?

Rowdy had a double a homer and 2 walks. The walks really encouraging. I'd really like Panik to go on the IL for 10 days...bring Rowdy back.

And 10 tonight, Olerud's f***ed, lol. :P

They went from bottom 4 to top 4 in runs scored with 18 runs in their last 11 innings. I was just discouraged with the Kirk/Springer injuries and off and on offense that looked completely off until the 8th inning explosion Wednesday. I'm not the only one.

I understand, but you went to your usual the sky is falling self, relax.

You are consistent if nothing else, on not giving up on the "process" and Rowdy. I hope it pays off for our sakes and yes I'd rather have Rowdy as a LHH than Panik.

Randal watch is on. Is his wRC+ for real at 140 or is this just a hot flash like he has had before. In any case, thank f*** because our line up has been a DL dumpster fire. He has really been so good. The whole Springer injury mgm has been a colossal clusterf***.

Good article on SN today:

https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/way-early-trade-deadline-planning-blue-jays/

Kyle Seager would be a great add. I wonder if his option would kick in for 2022 automatically if traded? That would be awesome. With Seager on 3B, Biggio could be the super sub, and Panik maybe loses his job.

Agreed! Also gives Groshans more time to develop. Puts him in a position to force the hand of the FO with his performance, otherwise he spends a full season in AAA next year.

I suggested this in the offseason and was shown the door for my stupid idea

I don't think I poo pooed it, in fact I liked it IIRC (could be wrong). But now, at least for me, it makes all the sense in the world. We get a rental+ who really solidifies a position that has been a bit of a nightmare, and Biggio can be used where he adds more value, plugging holes everywhere. And, as a bonus, it lets the kids mature in the minors a little more and gets rid of Panik. Seattle, while overperforming, isn't really a contender. Maybe we could grab Seager for a couple of B prospects? No idea what the trade world will be like this year.

I was onboard with the idea of bringing Seager aboard as well, there seems to be a perception among some here that he's a mediocre player with no value that nobody in their right mind would be interested in. I see a solid defender with an above average bat that would plug a massive ongoing hole for the club that dates back several seasons.

IIRC - everyone thought he was a negative value player so it was dumb.

Now we have Panik and Espinal playing 3rd.

I didn't care whether he provided excess value or not - he's under contract for this year and next and is a solid 2.5 to 3 WAR player and the timing works nice to allow Martin or Groshans to slide in once his contract is up.

Need to make a move for another catcher.... rolling with Jansen and McGuire for another two months is bleh

No sense moving assets out for a short term fix. Kirk looks legit and Moreno is absolutely torching AA early on so the future catching position is well looked after. Despite the struggles with the bat Jansen has provided superb defence, and the bat is looking much better recently. He's hit a ton of line drives with nothing to show for it, the results should improve over time.

I still believe in Danny and Kirk and our depth in that position is insane so I don't really wanna worry about catcher. I think it's one of the few positions we don't have to worry about.

Well this is a nice surprise. Will be very fun seeing how he looks tomorrow.

With so many bullpen arms out of commission it seemed like the necessary move to keep the club competitive. I'm super pumped as well by this news as well. Kay is far better utilized at this point to serve as a longman in case of emergency. Who knows which version of Matz shows up for tonight's game either, so the more pen arms the better.

Now we just wait for Manoah to arrive and finally have a proper rotation for the first time this season.

Just checking in....any more pitchers hurt yet?

Anybody fall down some stairs or blow out their sphincter taking a s*** today?

Just give it another 30 minutes, something will pop up lol.

Our high performance department must be taking a huge beating. All that bragging about it and none of our guys can remain healthy.

Kirk transferred to the 60 day. Yet a couple days ago, Rossy said it could be only four weeks.

That's a shame. He was looking so confident at the plate and looked quite comfortable behind the plate as well. Hopefully he's ready to go when the 60 is up.

I agree and let's not forget about Riley Adams...2 HR in last night's game. I've watched this guy a ton in Dunedin..love his bat.
