Nah, Rendon was coming back off the IL, and I didn't attack anybody... how's this an attack, also Jim admits Rendon is good right after my post.

Now he's correct a couple months into the season, do you think Rendon's s***? Please... he's been terrible this season thus far, but his track record and projections didn't foresee this, yer dumn.

I'm just having fun with you Spank, don't blow a gasket.

Donaldson talking about pitchers cheating. I'm glad he mentioned Bauer wanting to bring attention to it. Cole is going to be the face of this because of the contract he got, whether fairly or not, but this absolutely needed to be enforced and I'm glad it will be.

I'm surprised the Astros don't get dragged even more with all of this foreign substances talk. If they were banging on trash cans then we can assume they were at the forefront of foreign substances cheating. I mean, they clearly were. Just look at Cole's spin rates when he got to Houston.

The depths of cheating in Houston probably go much further than we publicly know. They are a piece of s*** organization and they deserve nothing.

Not only Cole, but Verlander went to Houston and turned back the clock instantly. Their cheating was definitely across the board.

Well Cole pretty much told everyone straight up he is cheating with his joke of a response the other day.

In his defense, the league has been turning a blind eye to this problem for a few years. It has obviously become part of pitching culture. Kind of hard to hate on specific players for going with the culture. That's an impossible question to answer in a satisfactory way.

ALTHOUGH can Gerrit Cole reasonably blame pitching culture etc. if he is one of the biggest influencers and trendsetters for that culture? A younger player, sure, but he's a face of baseball and a true Ace - one of the guys that CREATES pitching culture.

This reminds me when they starting asking guys if they take steroids. It's like - yeah, of course I take steroids you stupid reporters - everyone is - it's part of the baseball culture and if you aren't, you're falling way behind the field.

This guy Sam Long debuting in the show looks pretty good, not sure if it's the Rangers line-up, but he's carving them up. Couldn't even find him on "The Board" on fangraphs, but his stats look good. Hmm...

4 IP, 1 BB, 7 ks, of no-no ball so far

What do you mean new? That s***'s been going on forever, man.

Sounds different this year, almost like a bell. It's more annoying.

It gets worse every year, shakers, whistles, bells, drums, you name it they've got it.

This new drum/bell thing in Oakland makes the games almost unwatchable.

Have you noticed how good Kyle Gibson's been this year, do you still have any ownership?

I wonder how far you can get by studying high speed video of pitchers, their arm angles, arm speed, release point, grip, finger measurements etc.? There are so many factors to consider but I wonder if some thorough study would be able to get to a point where you have a well-defined "expected spin" for a pitcher's repertoire, and any level of spin above a certain point is flagged as suspicious.

Maybe impossible in practice but it's interesting to think about.

I've noticed. I don't expect it to continue.

I think the model would be very easy to build. Modern pitching science can get you all of the inputs.

The problem in practice would just be getting all of the information from specific players. Who wants to measure fingers and submit to grip analysis and all that.

Easier to just have someone check during games. You would do random testing by like, stopping the pitching during their windup (ump calls time) and then checking their fingers and the ball for foreign substances. Surprise - stop and frisk

Pete Alonso is suggesting that MLB is changing the ball based on the strength of free agency classes, perhaps to drive down the prices of star players? Haven't really thought of it like that before.

We're in for a long work stoppage if the relationship is damaged to the extent that players believe this.

Yeah seriously, how much distrust exists between the two sides if that type of conspiracy level s*** is legitimately being discussed by the players?

The circus negotiations to get a covid season running suggests we’re in for a long work stoppage. Owners side are really savvy at pushing their agendas while the players association continue to get bent over. There’s a tough road ahead for a new CBA.

Obvious major talking points include universal DH, expanded postseason format, service time manipulation and arb rules, international draft, shortened regular draft, extra roster spots, just to name a few.

It may be discussed elsewhere but i just heard the audio of Gerrit Cole being asked if he used spidertack in a game lol.

Jesus i don't think i have never heard a more stumbling bad answer = DOA

I'm glad MLB is cracking down.
