A bit like when we had Delgado and Doc in their primes.

 

I really wish we could have built winning teams around those 2. Might be an unpopular opinion but I consider Delgado the best offensive Jay of all time and Doc was the best Jays Pitcher of all time :)

They both statistically were, lol. How's that going to be unpopular? I was at the 4 dinger game, good times!

Everyone considers Alomar the best Jay of all time. He was great for sure but a lot of that had to do him playing with a great team.

Over any kind of relevant sample size our best offensive players are technically Crime Dog McGriff and Donaldson, but over a significant span it's definitely Delgado and Bautista. I don't think it's unpopular at all to say Halladay was our best pitcher ever, nor is the Delgado opinion.

Dude, Alomar is a HOF'er? He is one of the best all time, you said offensively and I agree.

 

Yes but Alomar did a lot of damage with Cleveland and Baltimore. I am only looking at it from a Blue Jays perspective.

Alomar didn't even play that many seasons with us to even be in that conversation tbh. He's a Hall of Famer sure, and spent the majority of his career with the Blue Jays, but he had a lot of good years playing for the Padres, Orioles and Cleveland. The best Blue Jays ever in terms of total contributions with the team are Bautista, Delgado, Tony Fernandez, Stieb, Halladay.

I took the Subway and Streetcar every single Dave Stieb and Jimmy Key start, as a lefty I emulated him to a T, except my set up to a set position, I used the old school Kershaw who was a young child when I pitched lol.

 

PS... I was really young then. 10 yrs old and on, lol.

WTF??? Wendle's brothers used to put shock collars around his neck? WAT???

 

lol... that's f***ed up. :eek:

 

I had 3 older brothers and suffered similarly in small town NS. No shock collars but they loved to lock me outside in my underwear in the snow...hang me out the upstairs window by my feet....make me eat raw onions....pour Tabasco sauce down my throat...kick me threw a window etc etc etc.

 

The result has been a high pain tolerance threshold and decades of counselling lol. I feel Wendle's pain.
