Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Who hasn't fractured their hand in a little bump playing video games? Lol dude probably lost a game of Warzone and punched a wall or something. What a bs excuse
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Who hasn't fractured their hand in a little bump playing video games? I ended up with a "mallet finger" after something fell out of the freezer and I caught it poorly. Took months of rehab to get it back to normal.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Aroldis Chapman has 24 strikeouts and 3 walks in 10 innings. He continues to have a negative FIP and xFIP. He struck out 2 hitters in the 9th inning and his K/9 went down.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Travis d'Arnaud to the 60 day IL due to thumb sprain in yesterday's game
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Travis d'Arnaud to the 60 day IL due to thumb sprain in yesterday's game 60 day? Surgery for sure... Yikes!
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Jesus, McCaan has been garbage for the Mets offensively. Dat contract, lol.
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Mike Trout is hitting 413/515/775 with a 257 wRC+
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Kluber looking stronger Went 8 scoreless last night. Though it was against the Tigers
keggy Verified Member Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Travis d'Arnaud to the 60 day IL due to thumb sprain in yesterday's game Horrible break for the d'Arnaud and the Braves. Thumb strength on the glove hand is more important for a catcher than any other position on the diamond. Pure speculation but he might be done for the season and could take even longer than that to get right.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 s*****. He was breaking out into an ace, and is really fun to watch. Now we probably don't see him again until 2023.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Wouldn't he be back by like mid-late 2022? It's usually an 18 month rehab, he could make it back to relieve at best, but I doubt it.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 It's usually an 18 month rehab, he could make it back to relieve at best, but I doubt it. Ah for some reason I thought it was closer to 12 months rehab
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Ah for some reason I thought it was closer to 12 months rehab There's been some relievers that have done that, position players even shorter.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Damn that sucks for May, he was fun to watch.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 That's awful for baseball. I guess that's why the Dodgers kept Price around though.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 And Price is on the IL, lol. They'll probably sign Diesel and he'll suddenly add 5 mph to his fastball.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 And Price is on the IL, lol. Apparently they will consider Bauer on short rest until Gosslin and Price are healthy. I guess Bauer kind of gave up on that request/demand eh?

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Ah for some reason I thought it was closer to 12 months rehab That's the exception not the norm for starting pitchers. 15-18 months is still more typical.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Kershaw possibly hurt? Gave up 4 in the first, then didn't go back out for the 2nd.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 At this rate, they will have to lower the draft eligibility for pitchers, and sign IFA pitchers at 14 yrs old.

Or teams will have to start signing guys who don't throw max effort. The Buehrle and Moyer types may not be exciting, but they didn't break down either.

That would be good, to change the focus from maximizing velocity, extending pitching mechanics to the physical limit. However, a team that does would take the risk of falling behind. I am sure there are good statistics to back up the pursuit of high octane arms.
