The Angels just released Pujols. Surprised honestly, I thought they’d stick it out til the end. He really should have been released like 2 seasons ago.

Holy s***, they did... why the hell did they wait so long then?

The Tigers are still on the hook for 2 more years, AFTER this season, of Miggy at $32M + $8M buyout for his 2024 option.

He's got a 12 wRC+ so far this season.

Yeah but he hit that homerun on opening day in the snow

It has nothing to do with where the team is playing and they’re not expecting you to actually go to games, its all about broadcasting rights.

Definitely sucks though

Exactly. I'm not sure what's available, but if you want to stream the Jays (legally) you need to buy some kind of sportsnet online access.

That sucks for them now but they had him for over a decade of his career in his prime, including a handful of MVP-caliber seasons. It's Detroit's fault they wasted all those years.

Angels have given up 167 runs, second most in the majors

Have lost 5 in a row

They are getting insanely great seasons so far from Trout and Ohtani

They DFA Pujols and will still do nothing about the pitching

Extend Vlad to age 32/33 maybe 34 now and then play poor when he reaches free agency

Yeah if you have access to the cable channel that has exclusive rights to the games, then you'll be blacked out. Anyone who lives in Canada likely has access to get whatever channel Rogers is airing the games on, so that's why they black the games out. They want fans to watch the games on those platforms, while MLBTV is used for out of market games. I don't think it's a MLB decision either. I believe it is up to the teams and their deals with their regional sports networks. If they made everything available on MLBTV and didn't have cable deals, then the price for MLBTV would have to be astronomical to come close to being profitable for them.

I was considering it until I saw the ridiculous prices. 20$ a month which equals 120$ for a season just to be able to watch the Jays. I know you get access to all the sportsnet channels and therefore get to watch all the other sports too, but I only care about baseball. Couldn't give less of a s*** about the other sports.

So it went from usually paying $150ish for MLBtv and getting ALL baseball, to now tacking 120$ on top if I want to watch the Jays. Yeah no thanks f*** that. There are other ways to watch.

Newish GM, and a couple kids ready to step up and have impact. And Ohtani can DH when he doesn't pitch. And, this is the fallout after the meeting where essentially (and reportedly) Pujols refused a part time position.

I know Ohtani DH's that's all he's ever done offensively, so that changes nothing, but I didn't know about any meeting or fallout, that might explain it. I thought he had a FO position after he retired, guess not? :P

There's no kids helping that team by the way, unless you're speaking of Walsh or maybe Thaiss. Walsh was already playing everyday, Juan Lagares is playing LF, minimal upgrade.

Angels really need Jo Adell to step up.

Mike Trout passed Ken Griffey Jr in career WAR last night in 1461 less games played!:P

Really, that's f***ing insane.

Holy s*** - that is hard to fathom.

Blew me away, Brownie... I was just scrolling for BABIP all time seasons and leaders, so I randomly looked for Trout in WAR and there it was, and I noticed the GP. Crazy!!!
