I did the twitter login/link thing and it seems ok now

Used that yesterday. I just tried logging out and pushing the Twitter button to log back in and get:

"Whoa there!

There is no request token for this page. That's the special key we need from applications asking to use your Twitter account. Please go back to the site or application that sent you here and try again; it was probably just a mistake."

This tool is embarrassingly bad.

Are the Giants for real?

They're somehow leading that division when no one expected anything other than a 3rd place finish obviously.

Seems like mostly some luck to me that a full season will probably rectify

Two John Means no hitter tidbits

He had never even pitched into the 8th inning before let alone ever thrown a complete game

The only thing that prevented him from having a perfect game was a dropped third strike in the 3rd inning

It's terrible, and it sucks because it's the only tool of its kind now. I believe MLBFarm sold out to MLB Pipeline, so this is what we are given.

Re Lindor

His bat has been deteriorating for two years

On the one hand I thought it seemed a little dangerous signing a long term deal in a tough fanbase/media/market without having played a single game as a Met... And I though he could get that deal next year from a number of teams of his choosing.

OTOH maybe he and his agent knew his eliteness was dwindling and they thought maybe he wasn't going to get that deal if he waited... And if so they may have been right. I mean he'll hit better than this, but it probably will turn in to a large overpay contract.

Almost as many walks as strikeouts but only 2 extra basehits on the year. Weird...

Lindor will bounce back but he was never an elite hitter for his career. A very good one but not elite. That contract will age poorly, especially once his defense declines. I expect him to turn things around this season, though.

Just a disaster of a contract. Made worse given his position.

What will his D be like the last few years at that pos?

His career wRC+ is only 116. That good but not great. He numbers will come up from these depths in 2021, but this deal is ug-ly.

Haven't watched many Mets games but isn't his defense the only good thing about his season thus far?

The Angels just released Pujols. Surprised honestly, I thought they’d stick it out til the end. He really should have been released like 2 seasons ago.

Wow yeah

Either do it in 2018 or let him finish it out

Wow!

What a truly incredible career he's had. In his prime years (between 2001 and 2010) he was similar to Trout to me. This guy posting video game numbers who I didn't get to watch on TV all that often. He was larger than life - I always wanted to try and catch St. Louis games on Sunday Night baseball (or wherever I could) because he was must see TV.

I remember when the Angels signed him, I thought there was an outside chance he'd pass Babe, Aaron and maybe even Bonds on the all-time home run list. Alas, it wasn't meant to be as age and injuries prevented him from an Adrian Beltre/Nelson Cruz/Big Papi sunset to his career.

It will be interesting to see if another team signs him, or if he just hangs them up. Even though he's been awful for years now - I must say I've still stopped what I was doing when a Pujols highlight came on TV - or when he came to bat during an Angels game - just to marvel at one of the absolute greatest hitters of all-time and certainly of my generation.

It's about time. Dude's like 65.

What a great career. I wish he had retired years ago so I wouldn't have the memory of him being an anchor in LA for half a decade.

So who wants to stick Pujols on our bench and hope he has some level of resurrection? Lol

Hopefully nobody.

So The Nats/Braves game isn't on MLB.tv because it's being streamed on YouTube. Very annoying for people who flip between games, to have to leave the app for one game. This company doesn't understand their customers.

I’ve had it with MLB.tv ever since the Jays games started getting blacked out. Speak with your wallet! Now if I only I remember to cancel my auto-renew...

Oh I know

Black me out cause I'm in Canada with no chance to get to a Jays "home" game that's taking place in Florida or Buffalo?!?!

f*** right off

I'll eat some crow: the Youtube broadcast has done a better job of showing the game off to new viewers than any recent SNB: really good full inning interview with Scherzer, a profile on Albies, and Josh Harrison mic'd up (he's a great personality) in the 90 minutes or so I've watched.

It should be available via MLB.tv though.

Taijuan Walker is having a great year so far. Why didnt we re-sign him?

because he wanted a 3 year deal and has thrown less than 70 innings over the past 3 years.

Especially when there are numerous ad free streaming sites.

Letting Pujols play at -WAR for 4 1/2 seasons is a tribute to just how god awful the Angels organization is. Maybe Perry Minasian is less of an idiot?

It has nothing to do with where the team is playing and they’re not expecting you to actually go to games, its all about broadcasting rights.

Definitely sucks though
