Its gonna be pretty awkward after this draft when everyone is gonna have to love Keith Law LMAO.

Ever since AA left Keith Law has liked most of our picks. People just have some weird Law complex where they think he hates everything. I will admit it's hard to get through some of his political crap but he's still solid at analyzing prospects.

Trent Palmer had 9 starts last year before getting put into a BP role for Jacksonville where they continued to develop him. Has mostly been a reliever in college.

He switched to a full time starter this season and was excellent in his 4 starts including that complete game vs Illinois State with 13 K’s (program record). Season ended abruptly before he could prove he could do it for a whole season.

If you're gonna draft a Jenkins/McGuire/Zoink, at least it's in the 3rd round

Throw Harris in there too.

f*** that's a gross 1st round foursome.

The fact that this happened because the O's messed up makes it even sweeter.

Maybe the O's go nuts and sign a bunch of the $20k UDFA's.

Trackman and Rapsodo friendly College Pitchers

Anyone can do that, though? Those guys go back to ball as a senior, or play overseas... slim pickings, buddy.

Yohandy Morales in the 4th, anyone with me?

I doubt we could afford him at this point.

From BA:

107. Nick Frasso

Loyola Marymount, RHP

Ht: 6-5 | Wt: 190 | B-T: R-R

Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted

Age At Draft: 21.7

Frasso impressed with four scoreless innings in his lone start for USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team last summer. He entered this spring considered a potential first-round pick, but he failed to get through five innings in either of his first two starts before being shut down with forearm tightness. Frasso is one of the most athletic pitchers in the 2020 draft class. He was a high school basketball standout capable of throwing down emphatic dunks, and he still has a basketball build at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds with room to fill out. Frasso still has a relatively fresh arm due to his two-sport background. His 92-95 mph fastball plays up with both a high spin rate and plus extension, and his high-spin slider gives him a second potential plus offering, although it is inconsistent. His changeup is rudimentary but flashes average potential. Frasso locates his fastball to both sides of the plate and fills up the strike zone. He projects as a plus strike thrower overall. Frasso checks a lot of analytical boxes with his spin rates and extension, while traditional scouts love his athleticism and projection. He is in second-to-third-round consideration on talent, but concerns about the health of his arm may drop him lower.

Nick Frasso is a really interesting arm for the Jays. Great fastball that's really tough to square up, solid secondaries, very athletic and he does a good job of throwing strikes and controlling his long limbs. Seems like a guy who could get a lot better with pro coaching

What is he saying?

Talking about where baseball as a sport needs to head to succeed after Little League. Like a continuation of Little League for older kids, because they head off to play other sports with no options to continue playing ball.

Touched on the owners/players dispute and the owners interests and Manfred's role as an advocate

What is he saying?

Nothing related to his clients. Just general statements about the game. He was talking about how little league's participation rate with kids is so high but after that there is nothing keeping kids from continuing to play beyond that. Talked about Kyler Murray choosing football over baseball and how the league has to create a system where kids after little league can remain in the game and have the best athletes choose baseball over other sports. I didn't catch all of it, and Boras can turn a 30 second answer into 45 minutes, but basically talked about how the game needs to grow from a talent standpoint.

Nothing on Martin or anything, at least not from the part I saw.

I know Frasso is a college guy but he doesn't really sound like an underslot guy.

He's not.

Amazing draft by the Jays if they can somehow get everyone signed.
