There are so many options to go through there. We tend to go a bit more risky in the 2nd and 3rd rounds but there is a lot of college arms that will be available.

College arms could be the way to go depending what happens in 30-40. I have my eye on a few names like Bryce Jarvis, Clayton Beeter, Cole Henry, etc.

 

But they might go the upside route with the second pick. Like they signed Kendall Williams out of his Vanderbilt commit last year after Manoah.

Prep arms in the #30-50s have traditionally been a value pick for prep arms (e.g. Syndergaard @38, Manaea @34, Kopech @33, Flaherty @34, Canning @47)

e.g. Daxton Fulton, Jared Jones, Alex Santos, Justin Lange, Tanner Witt, or even Nick Bitsko if he falls really far.

 

Or maybe even take a flyer on a Jordan Walker, Kevin Parada, Chase Davis, Enrique Bradfield, or Masyn Winn.

I think there will be a shock in 2020, in a year with COVID, riots and Murder Hornets, what else would you expect.

 

Tigers will pick Martin at #1.

 

This will really screw up the Orioles plan. I think the Orioles might want to go low slot in this case.

 

Then Miami will be left with a BIG decision. That means Lacy 'might be available at 4.. What would KC do?

 

I am hoping they go Lacy then the Jays swoop in and pick Veen.

 

Of course I fantasize about various Youtube chicks and that hasn't come to fruition either..

I'm struggling to think of elite potential HS OFers picked this high that fulfilled on their promise, but that's likely more to do with the small sample to choose from and a failure of memory. It shouldn't really deter them too much, but HS hitters still have huge a lot of bust potential compared to college players, even if they're a safer investment than HS pitching.

So I am watching MLB TV draft coverage. They just showed Meyer and his family. First, he looks small, even when he was flexing.. Two, the whole family is gingers.
