Look at Stromans fWAR page. Bauer is producing almost the same amount of WAR during a season where his results are clearly getting hurt by the juiced ball than Stroman is during his best season.

I don't know what you're trying to say here. Stroman is putting up more WAR than Bauer this year, in spite of pitching considerably fewer innings. Both are pitching with the same juiced ball.

This return for Cleveland is a bit underwhelming imo. Allen is a fringe top 100 guy, Puig is a headcase & Franmil is all power and nothing else.

Makes the Jays return on Stroman look fine to me but I was always ok with it because I'm just happy to be done with his side show in general.

Franmil's is 24 and just over 600 plate appearances. Typically, player's offense doesn't peak that early. He could get a lot better with the bat. He's 22% better than league average already. He might actually get worse on offense, but you have to like the potential for him to get a lot better...the upside is there and he isn't a free agent until 2025.

At first glance, I actually prefer the Jays return as well, and I thought it was disappointing as hell. I'm basing that off Puig, Reyes, and Allen, though. If there are more names, then I'll wait to reserve judgment.

I don’t know. I actually kind of prefer our trade tbh.

Anthony Kay is not that far from Logan Allen in terms of value. Both are projected to be bottom-mid rotation arms and have similar concerns. You could call it a wash between them.

SWR >>>> Franmil though.

If Bauer with 1.5 years of control wasn’t gonna get Kyle Tucker, Marcus Stroman in no way shape or form was gonna get him.

I think it's defensible to prefer SWR to Reyes, but Reyes has established himself as a league-average MLB player at 23 and still has 5 years of control. And there's upside beyond that: he absolutely f***ing crushes the ball.

That's a pretty f***ing good deal for the indians.

Franmil may be better than you think. He's improved his defense this year a bit, has good walk (8.3%) and acceptable k (26.6%) rates, and put up a 129 and 116 wRC+ the last two years, and appears to be a little unlucky this year at the plate.

He's probably my fave piece they got in the return but they definitely didn't get that one blue chipper or stud in return for Bauer like many thought they might.

It just feels like an underwhelming return for a guy like Bauer who strikes out a lot of guys and obviously has that ace upside that he showed last year.

That's a fantastic deal for the Indians. Also, lol Padres!

In case anyone missed this. It happened during the trade.

Ok, adding Moss and Nova definitely makes it a better deal for Cleveland than what the Jays got. Atkins should have gotten at least one more piece from the Mets.

This is pathetic for the Padres. Like it a lot for the Reds and I think the Indians did very well also.

Bauer’s HR/FB is considerably higher than his career norm this year. My point was Bauer does have a higher talent level than Stroman,, but you already mentioned that.

that's a fireable trade for the Preller, except Preller's had a few fireable instances and he's still there so I'm not sure what it takes.

Makes you wonder why the Padres gave up on him for Taylor Trammell. Even if you think he’s a 1B/DH long term, he should’ve been able to fetch a little more imo.

A very weird trade.

What happened to set Garrett off like that?

What do you think the coaches were saying....relax dude...you don't even play in the national league..you've been traded to the Indians!

Looks like a good deal for both Cleveland and Cincy. Padres just wanted to get cucked and give Cleveland whatever they wanted.

Itd be very hard for me to take an 18 year old pitcher with 90 pro innings to his name over a guy like that.

He's 24 years old with a 122 wRC+ in 600 PAs. I'd bet he ends up with more WAR than SWR but I hope I'm wrong.

Every SP is the most important player on the field. Verlander can throw a no hitter against the Yankees, Reyes can only do so much

He has 27 hr and 46 rbi wow BIG f***ING DEAL watch out Big Papi he is coming for your crown! Lmao . SOLO Homerun machine! like Michael Saunders back in 2016, alot of homerun but nothing in the clutch.

Is this real life?

Franmil has 2.6 fWAR in 634 career PA... that's a present ~50 FV player.

Bonus - you can say "make way for Franny!" as his HR call.

lol

Simeon Woods Richardson is still the guy with the most upside. Scott mop is a garbage filler, other guy is a 5'9 midget like Stro ... Logan Allen is a future AT best SP 4

Franmil Reyes hits only DH now
