I still believe he'd exceed as a backend reliever? I think the time is now though, to figure it out. He's being mishandled. The contract differs largely in this point of time, lol.

Aaron Sanchez since 2017 is 8-18 and has thrown 219.2 innings, given up 234 hits, 123 walks with 175 strikeouts. His ERA is 5.00, his FIP is 5.17 and his xFIP is 5.15. Not only should Sanchez not be extended you could make an argument that he should be DFAd. At the very least he should not be starting another game.

Grant was right and would have been proven right but who could have predicted that a fingernail would ruin Sanchez' career and therefore Grant's predictions?? A real shame. You hate to see it.

He's definitely a non-tender candidate.

The Pirates will pick up Aaron Sanchez after the Blue Jays are done with him and he'll become good again. Just watch!

I wouldn't non tender him but would definitely move him to the pen. I could picture a scenario where the Jays trade Giles, move Sanchez to the closer role, and he becomes an asset next summer as a rental RP.

If he's not going to be moved to the pen, then man, that's going to be a big problem. Maybe trade him to the Braves for the 30th ranked prospect or something. AA probably still loves him.

Said it earlier, Sanchez is a non tender candidate after this year. What’s the appeal here? He can’t stay healthy and when he does he’s s***. He’s one of the worst pitchers in baseball and will continue to be without a fundamental change to his skill set. I don’t even think he can succeed in the pen, other than being an average middle reliever.

He doesn’t get swinging strikes, he doesn’t get ground balls at a sexy clip like he did earlier in his career, he walks like double the amount of batters he needs to in order to be successful and his self awareness is virtually non existent. I can’t wait until he’s gone from this team.

Jays need to try him as a 7-8th inning guy...maybe closer if we move Giles (******** GM will get 4 C-Level prospects for Giles)

if this doesnt work off to NL as a reclamation project
