gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Thanks Charlie for putting together the more interesting and watchable line up for the televised road game vs the Yankees.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Bo had a nice at bat against Happ. The bat speed / hit tool allowed him to foul off fastballs up in the zone; the good batting eye let him spit on some close pitches and draw the walk. Alford then demonstrated what Happ's fastball up can do to an inferior hitter. He swing through 2 or 3 of them and struck out on I think 4 pitches.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Pannone can't locate for his life today. Bo looks very advanced at the plate, shows good speed also.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 Considering that when Vlad is called up this spot disappears, it should be Urena with his option. This also seems inconsequential compared to the outfield, but maybe the decision on Pompey has already been made.

Minor move. From what I can gather he started out as somewhat noteworthy 40/40+ FV starter with the Royals, got traded to the Twins in 2014, got injured for two full seasons, was released, signed as a minor league FA with the Padres as a reliever, then back to the Royals and has worked his way up showing great strikeout rates at every level including a 30 inning MLB sample. Mid 90s fastball, hard changeup and a curveball in the high 70s.

Mid 90s fastball, hard changeup and a curveball in the high 70s. Pretty simple gameplan - fastballs up all day. Curveball does not seem impressive. Seems like, at best, a reliever with a 60/50/45 arsenal but the fastball alone could be very effective.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Does Jason Adam have options? I assume not?
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 Does Jason Adam have options? I assume not? He only made his majors debut last year so he has 2 left.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Another dinger for Tellez after Bo went to the opposite field warning track.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 He only made his majors debut last year so he has 2 left. Why would the Royals sell him to the Jays then? Just trying to clear a spot on their 40 man roster I guess?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Why would the Royals sell him to the Jays then? Just trying to clear a spot on their 40 man roster I guess? 5 RP on the 40 (and Drew Storen not on the 40) in the minors ahead of him (if you consider the Model Connor Greene a reliever). Just circumstances. And maybe they are trying to get the Jays a player to push his way on to the 25 so they can get Elvis back

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 What are they doing with Pompey, he has to come up at this point doesn't he?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 What are they doing with Pompey, he has to come up at this point doesn't he? He's out of options so I think he either makes the team or we have to pass him through waivers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Maico450 Verified Member Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 What are they doing with Pompey, he has to come up at this point doesn't he? Pompey is looking like he belongs. I would be surprised if the Jays let him go.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Pompey is looking like he belongs. I would be surprised if the Jays let him go. They could option McKinney and have him work at 1B. Then the first time Smoak, Morales, or an outfielder gets hurt he could come up and find plenty of AB's.
