Girardi has been my pick for a while.

 

Schneider makes sense, manager of the year, in the system, knows a lot of the players.

 

Do either one of them speak Spanish? That needs to be a required skill I think.

Sounded like he was ready to retire and go home. I doubt he takes a position unless it's a team near contention and he's the Manager, he loves his ranch, lol. I don't blame him.

Gibby is one of those guys you really root for. He's also super fun and a gif machine. We all know managers have little impact so I don't think most people are upset by this from a team performance viewpoint. We just really liked Gibby.

 

Yeah I wouldn’t mind if Gibby stayed since Gibby 2.0 is more than capable to manage in any situation (Gibby 1.0 was trash), but sounds like he may want out just as much as the front office wants a change. I don’t think he’ll get another job unless AA makes a managerial change in ATL, though. Teams are going younger and cheaper with managers now.

Not sure. I mean, it's clear he's being groomed for a future managerial job with the club at some point. Whether or not that point is now is something we really have no idea about.

 

Minor league Managers never really get any ink and they're aren't really any scouting reports for them, so really all we have to go on is the fact that he's been in the system as a manager now for 6 seasons, has won pretty much every step of the way, has been promoted accordingly, and is clearly the kind of manager they want around their young players. If he wasn't he wouldn't still be here.

 

Meacham is 60 years old at Buffalo so maybe they do send him out to pasture and have Schneider take over there.

I'd be afraid of starting his service time clock too soon, the fanbase might not like it but we might have to wait until May 2020 to get that extra year of control in with the team unlikely to be competitive next season.

Saying that how his demeanor works in the bigs because those that know him actually respect his smarts...but still most that don't know him think he's got to be an idiot.

A lot of teams will put their best managerial 'prospect' at AA since it is perhaps the most important level for prospect development.

Also he's not old school. People think he's old school because of the way he talks. But he never bunted and he put our best hitters at leadoff before it was a cool thing to do.

Am I the only one who heard this rumour plus the Shapiro rumour and is getting very, very nervous over the potential direction things could take here?

 

Edward Rogers needs to go play in traffic, put a bag over his head or whatever cliche is needed to get a very stupid adult who was rich from birth out of the picture.

While I agree Gibbons has for the most part been a good in game manager. I dont believe he gets the team prepared adequetly coming out of ST. Doesn't put enough empahsis on the fundementals, and is not willing to make the team take extra fielding drills etc. I have also been very frustrated with his battings orders in the past. So, IMO he is an awful manager for young kids and a rebuild. With the direction we are going. Glad be will be going.

I'm hoping Shapiro is here long enough for the team to become a contender, so Ross Atkins builds enough clout to take over as president should Shapiro decide to leave.
