Just want to throw this out there due to so many uses of DV. When you shorten it, you diminish the weigh of what those words mean.

DV = domestic VIOLENCE

Sorry i thought we were talking about Danny Valencia

Chances to trade Roberto Osuna seem very remote since there’s a court case pending. @Ken_Rosenthal suggested he’s being shopped, too.

The #BlueJays have now been shopping closer Roberto Osuna for weeks to no avail, with clubs adamantly shying away from him knowing the severity of his 78-game domestic violence penalty, and the fear of the unknown

Off-season deal for Osuna it is then.

And if he throws 2 months of elite relief pitching his value will rebound. I am just praying a settlement is reached.

My dream trade deadline:

1) Keep Osuna

2) Trade for Newcomb and Hader

3) Sign Hiemlich

Even that might be selling low, but at least there should be more clarity about his situation in a few months. Anyone who thinks teams are lining up to trade top prospects for him now is fooling themselves.

Osuna ostensibly should be a PR nightmare in noise only. 98% of fans don't really give a s*** if someone on their team has a plea agreement to a domestic assault on their record - they'll still go to games and watch on TV. So just letting Osuna return to the team and ignoring the noise should be a rational decision.

BUT I guess this is one of those asymmetrical population things where the intolerant minority over time ends up dictating what the whole "values". It's sad but probably true that it's inevitable that the whole will just find it easier to let the intolerant minority (the Sheryl Rings and Neptune Ramoses) dictate what the whole cares about (because the whole doesn't have strong feelings).

If Jansen were to bust it is easy to find another replacement level backup C, that isn't a reason to keep Maile. If you can get something for Maile you do it. However, there is absolutely no need to rush Jansen up here and start his service clock in a season like this one.

Do people just learn a term like "service clock" and apply it blindly everywhere to sound smart? I don't give a s*** about when Jansen's service clock starts, and I don't think anyone else should either. If he can contribute and/or learn something backing up Martin this year, and Maile can be traded for useful assets, you make the move. You don't hesitate for a second about putting him on the MLB roster strictly because of service clock concerns. If he becomes the next Posey and the Jays have to pay big bucks a year earlier in arb and lose him to FA, let's just be thankful for the unexpected uptick in talent for the years the team did have him.

Who does everyone think gets traded today? My predictions: Clippard and Granderson get traded for minor returns (international bonus money or some team's 30th prospect or something)

I honestly have a feeling that something is going to come out of left field that we don't really see coming.... Like a Teoscar or something.... Just a gut feeling.

Yup I got those 2 being traded for sure. Possibly Axford and Loup but they can also be moved in August. I'm hoping Estrada can be healthy enough to get traded in August for a lottery ticket. That's kind of where we are at this point.

They should really try to trade Solarte though.

Grichuk is a center fielder, plus with a better bat than Pillar.

If the Indians offered something really interesting you have to listen but you get the sense they are in more of the rental market and aren't interested in moving legit prospects.

Definitely moving Granderson. The relief market is so cluttered I really don't know if teams would value Clippard/Axford/Loup more than anyone else on the market. If they are moved it won't be for much.

I'd say outside shot Solarte gets moved, but I'm not expecting any surprises.

I think that Loup could fetch a decent return. Teams are always on the lookout for a lefty reliever at the deadline.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if they picked up an asset for Loup.
