BTS Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2018 Author Posted July 31, 2018 I'll be surprised if we were able to move Axford but not Clippard.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Axford for Corey Copping Copping looks mildly interesting as a lottery ticket reliever.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 shame that Granderson wasn't moved
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Grandy is still productive and a known clubhouse guy. I'd be shocked if no one traded for him even if it's for a C level nothing prospect.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 shame that Granderson wasn't moved I am more surprised Axford was moved and not Clippard.... Deals still trickle through after.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 shame that Granderson wasn't moved There will still be trades coming through that were consummated prior to the deadline but not yet reported.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Clippard is probably gone in August. Not sure about Granderson, I would assume the same but I'm surprised there were no takers if he really hasn't been moved.
jerb Verified Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Shi Davidi Verified account @ShiDavidi Sounds like #BlueJays are done, Curtis Granderson stays for now.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 According to Davidi Granderson stays. Lots of players that can still be moved in August through waivers though
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 According to Davidi Granderson stays. Lots of players that can still be moved in August through waivers though I could definitely see guys like Granderson and Clippard being August trade candidates.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I'm pretty sure Clippard's been moved before in August, likely several times.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I like Grandy but would much rather see AB’s going to McKinney/Smith/Pompey types over last two months. Crazy that he wasn’t moved. No doubt he will be moved in August but surprised it didn’t happen today.

No doubt he will be moved in August but surprised it didn’t happen today. Yankees were likely his best suitor, and Cashman likely wasnt offering much more than a bag of balls. I could see a situation where Atkins asking price was a little higher and he stood his ground to make a statement. Sometimes that statement is more important for future trades than a D level prospect in return. Especially when an August deal is still possible.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Alright, everyone on the team is officially on waivers right now...
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Perhaps Grandy’s Jays Care commitments are more important than the nothing prospect the Yankees offered. Both Grandy and Clippard will be dealt in August not even worried about it.

I think hes someone they flip to another organization and don’t view him long term he just had prospect capital in the Yankees system. We also know what Smith Jr. is. Hes only here because Alford has been a disaster.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 So the official tally (for now) is: Espinal Wall Spanberger PTBNL Drury McKinney Giles Paulino Perez Waguespack Copping

Both Grandy and Clippard will be dealt in August not even worried about it. Grandy helping mentor the young outfielders may be much more valuable than what he would return. Maybe he'll even move into a player / coach or straight coach role next year, and the Jays are hoping it's with them.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2018 Author Posted July 31, 2018 So the official tally (for now) is: Espinal Wall Spanberger PTBNL Drury McKinney Giles Paulino Perez Waguespack Copping Not bad given that the only post-2018 value traded was 3 years of Osuna and 1 year of Oh.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Atkins just got interviewed on sportsnet. Said they had lots of interest in Sanchez, Donaldson and Stroman but no one was offering what they wanted. edit: water is wet

GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Sigh. Its not like we were trading studs lol.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I thought you can't trade players on DL anyway? That's in your fantasy league. Jays got 1 on the DL.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 King, Whats up with Paulino's injury? Were you able to dig up anything on it? He hasn't thrown since the 17th and I havent been able to find any info on it
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I thought you can't trade players on DL anyway? I think one of the guys in the Osuna trade is on the DL... Maybe it's different 'cause it's the minor league DL?

Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
