Wilmer Font pitched a gem in extras but after 70+ pitches the Diamondbacks finally got to him to win the game in 15 innings. What a game, baseball is great!

Edwin is off to an incredible start. Which is scary because hes a notorious slow starter.

 

Replace Morales with Edwin and this offense is a much more potent force

This villainization of Bryce Harper is so bizarre. I really don't understand it.

There has to be a villain to make sports more engaging for some people. Whether they only do it for Harper or will pick any of the opposing teams stars will be semi-interesting to see.

 

As for Harper, the way he encourages showing emotion on the field rather than being stuffy and passionless it what gets to anyone over 50, which is still (unfortunately)a huge portion of MLBs fanbase. Median age of MLB fan in 2015 was 53 according to ESPN.

 

IN contrast, the NBAs median age was 37

A's attendance last night: 7,416. Man, some cities are seeing big attendance dropoffs early this season--is it due to tanking, early start, or apathy?

Weather most likely doesn't help early in the season

The weather was great, but the coliseum is an awful venue. I went to the Warriors Bucks game next door, and had no interest in seeing the A’s. TBF if i’d been in San Francisco one more day for Ohtani’s pitching debut I’d have gone. Going to the Padres vs Rockies tonight, a much better venue.

It's awful. Been to several games at the coliseum and it has to be one of the worst venues in sports. It's not even nice for a football stadium and they are playing baseball on it.

Crazy thing is it has perfect transport links by car, rail and even air. If they knocked it down and built a true modern stadium it could be successful. However, the Warriors are moving to downtown San Fran, and the SF Chronicle reckons when the lease is up on the coliseum it could be turned into a mall instead as the A’s might not have the money to buy it.

So far I've seen games at Wrigley, Fenway, AT&T, Rogers Center and the horrid dump the White Sox call a stadium.

 

At&T was the best by far. Wrigley and Fenway had a cool history factor but really the views and sightlines are pretty bad/garbage at Fenway unless you're right behind home plate or in the front few rows down the lines. The seats are horribly uncomfortable and really the whole place needs to be imploded. Wrigley was far better in that regard despite the obvious age. RC was okay, nothing special but not horrid, I was there when the dome was closed unfortunately so I didn't get the open air experience which I suspect is better.

Roof open is much better. Still though, I personally hate that it's basically a cylinder, so I don't get that open air feel all that much.

 

Comerica, PNC and Progressive I liked much better because of their openness.

And why are the Rays still a team? Already down 4-1.. might as well give the Yanks a W, as the Rays offense is non-existent..

I'm not sure what people have against the White Sox field, other than the dumb names they keep attaching to it. It seemed fine to me, but maybe anything looks good next to the RC.

Using Johnathon Holder for one thing.. who really belongs in AAA while Chad Green is fresh (remember, they had an off day due to the snowstorm). Then he went to Kahnle, a guy who already was part of the blowup vs. the Jays last series.

It was the 6th inning, they needed innings, guys simply haven't done their job. 5 starters 25 innings, bruh. You always go on about innings, until it fits your narrative.
