Not a real impressive return but Teo doesn't have a ton of value right now. Trading him is the right move as he's not worth extending but obviously there need to be some more moves to offset his loss.

I don't know why the Rockies keep committing money to so-so major leaguers. Remember when the Jays extended Grichuk and the general feeling was like, ok, not awful or anything, but why did they do that? The Rockies have done that sort of extension over and over again. It's like they're betting on all their current players developing into stars so they can be like, "man, we're so smart" without recognizing the very real possibility that these guys won't even be worth what they make in arbitration. They're basically telling their fans, this is our team, get used to it, it's not getting any better.

Kirk is fine to hold down C until Jansen is back. Not as good on defense but he's fine. Heineman sucks but probably not any more than McGuire or almost any team's backup catcher. Hopefully this will lead to more PAs for Biggio as they rotate various players through the DH spot but I'm guessing we'll see a bit more of Collins and Tapia.

Definitely seems like the FO doesn't see Collins as a catcher at all, more of Greg Bird type of lefty power bat. He rates pretty horribly on defense but for whatever reason they're interested in his bat. I doubt we see him start any games at catcher.
