Don't get me wrong, he's done well on ESPN and generally is good at his job. But for the Blue Jays, is he really a good fit? I find he's knowledgeable but a combination of boring and serious, which is probably what a lot of Blue Jays fans don't want IMO. This is noticeably rubbing off on Buck as well. I'd prefer someone who is a little more relaxed... Tabler obviously, or where is Darrin Fletcher? He was great.

Buck and pat can't hold Shulman's jock. I would give my left leg to have Shulman for all 162.

I have MLB.tv and whenever Shulman isn't calling the game, I will watch the other teams feed (unless it's the ChiSox...ugh)

Same, but then Buck is still there and drunk. Hearing his voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

Yes. Thread over.

Ok so you think Shulman is better than the others at drawing viewers? Sorry but I disagree... he's monotone and boring, tonight's game has been terrible.

I thought there would be a real discussion. Almost forgot that the forum is in ruins and completely dead. Too bad.

Only the casuals like Buck and Pat cause they're strong and play the game the right way...

Tabler and Buck, for all their faults, actually have good chemistry. The flow of their broadcast is good and they don't step on each others toes. That said, it's like listening to 2 old guys sitting in the row behind you. And you can hear them babble on about a bunch of stuff that is wrong and it's unnerving but you don't/can't say anything to correct them.

But like I said, they do have good chemistry- so maybe Schulman upsets that chemistry a bit for you? I think he's pretty good otherwise.

I loved Fletcher as a colour man, but there's no comparison between Shulman as the pbp guy vs Buck, it's like comparing Usain Bolt to a 1-legged midget in a sprint

Shulman is awesome. The fact that we might be getting potentially more of him next season is extremely intriguing.

Shulman is a God.

The three man booth is horrendous.

I do like Buck a lot better as the colour guy. Fire Tabby into the sun.

I wish we had Jessica Mendoza.

So Shulman and Buck....like when they had it right a couple of decades ago? I agree.

You prefer Pat Tabler

To Dan Shulman

I don't even know how to process this

I think this is exactly it

I've never been a fan of broadcasters being homers, especially on home run calls. I'm not referencing Hawk but I guess some people need the enthusiasm behind every hit to feel more engaged or excited and I don't really see why.

"Get up ball, get up ball" is not really my thing either... nor is "Swing and a Drive". Why? Because 30% of the time we get Buck'd, 30% of the time I spill my beer, and 30% of the time I'm like, yay we hit a solo bomb and now we're only down 6-1. Guess I should go look for a Smoakin' meme.

I think the most important for you is getting a better grip on that beer.

I LOATHE Buck and Tabby. LOATHE (grinch voice). But personally, I like broadcasters who are slightly on the homer side. I like the home run calls and the extra excitement they bring when the Jays do something well. That's it though. Nothing else. Nothing.

Some people will just bitch because of change from the status quo, even though 90% of the time there is zero merit to it.

Probably should just lower the volume in my theater.

Kill yourself.

Pat Tabler is a nincompoop who thinks that pitcher wins matter, RBI are a repeatable skill, and worst of all, he pronounces across "acrossed." He has absolutely no business doing TV commentary.
