He didn't touch home plate, that's pretty clear. Did Martin tag him?

Maybin went back and stepped on home plate when he stood up, fwiw.

The other angle showed Martin clearly tagging Maybin's heel prior to the latter sliding his fingers near the plate. It was a clear out.

Like, if the umpire calls Maybin out there, Mike Scioscia might not even challenge that.

but if New York was seeing the same angle we saw they couldn't overturn any call. That was like the old Las Vegas stationary cam behind the plate type angle. Junior weightlifting has more money invested in replay technology than MLB.

Other angles show the tag, but that one kind of sucks.

How does the replay system not have every angle possible to determine whether the correct call was made?

Agreed. Jesse Chavez with a 1-2 count is pretty good. When he's in a 2-1 count he's not.

You watch or understand baseball to well do you..

Weird how Martin just gave up on trying to retag Maybin. Deciding factor may have been Maybin in going back to step on home plate

Maybe he tagged him the first time and didn't feel it was necessary to tag him again?

Above average offense lol
109 wRC+ in 733 PA, including this season's ghastly start.

We don't know yet what Travis is going to be, but he has been an above average hitter thus far in the majors.

When you're down 0-1 or 1-2 instead of being up 1-0 or 2-1, it makes all the difference in the world.

Morales and Bautista were up 3-0 and 2-0...got pitches to hit...garbage hitting

I don't understand why Martin didn't follow him and tag him before he got back to the plate just in case he didn't touch it?

That's exactly it. Russ knows whether he tagged him or not.

Yeah but you can't generalize on two specific AB's.

If this isn't biased umpiring, then i don't know what is.

It's just bad umpiring generally going against the Jays. Mike Trout had a pitch up near his tits called a strike.

Chavez has been behind a bunch. The hitters have a little league approach...refuse to hit the ball the other way
