This is outrageous. I don't understand how umpires make it to the pinnacle of sports when they don't understand the basic rules.

Are you serious? The coach is responsible for the players making mistakes? Talk about using a scapegoat every time.

I never said that...he is responsible for the way the team plays...if the players are making rookie mistakes u don't play them or make them practice what they keep screwing up. If it's clear we need to hit the ball the other way u go to the hitting coach and get it fixed

If the ump is a dumbass that shouldn't be in the majors you are screwed either way lol

This umpire needs to lose his job, or at least spend some time without pay. The Jays honestly deserve an apology for the past couple of games. Disgraceful.

How does this even happen? There is no room for interpretation. Travis is in the box, there is no intent to interfere. The umpires are wrong. Get out the f***ing rule book and make the correct call.

I'd be playing this game under protest. That's one of the worst calls I've ever seen. So if Travis hits the catcher on a non-SB attempt, it's catcher interference. But because the catcher jumps into the bat path, for some reason Travis is out?

Yeah, that's not a rule.

Get f***ed, Toby. You're an embarrassment.

So the umpire should lose his job for non performance meanwhile Travis lugs his fat ass to the plate four times a night single handedly killing this team

No point, I think there has been only one successful protest in the last 10 years or something crazy like that

you're assuming the ump can read..... the rule book

I honestly didn't think Coglan was fast but he's been trying to nab a few bases since he's been up here

I really want to see Coghlan in the outfield in place of Carrera when Donaldson comes back. He's really only an emergency infielder, but is decent defensively in LF (at least the last two years). He's a very nice complementary player to a team.

You're lost, Joe. Carry on.

Major League umpires are such professionals. Class act day in and day out, flawlessly executing a job that computers could perform with precise accuracy, and most importantly keeping their egos in check, making sure to understand the perspective of the player and coach if and when a rare mistake happens. Of course, even better are the strict guidelines in place to keep wrongdoers in check, for in the unlikely scenario where an umpire steps out of line, they are punished severely which prevents future occurrences of the same and makes sure the players, not the officiating, dictates the game.

Yeah would be nice to see him get more PT in LF over Zeke.
