I wish we could get Puig. Biagini plus prospects or something. We could probably fit his salary in.

If they were hot for McCutchen but that door has closed, maybe they'll warm up to Puig as option B.

Dodgers and Twins talks on Dozier have stalled apparently, maybe they need a third team involved to help facilitate. We get Puig, Dodgers get Dozier, Twins get one very good prospect from LA and two from us (or something along those lines).

This is... a good idea!

Let's write a letter the Atkins.

Does this put our projections at 85 Wins or 84?

Fangraphs is now projecting a total of 40.1 WAR for the Jays, including 2.9 from JB. So I believe that means 88 wins projected. By comparison they have Boston at 95, Yankees at 88, Orioles at 82, and Rays at 82. Of course all pending further acquisitions.

ETA: ok the projected total team Depth Charts WAR is what I was trying to compare:

RedSox 47

Jays 40

Yankees 40

Orioles 34

Rays 34

The Bautista deal is not done. Still some details being worked out, like the vesting option, and he has to pass a physical.

Back to square one.

Jays are projected for 84 wins with Bautista. Before Bautista they were projected for 81 or 82.

Like I said earlier, he's signing in Cleveland.

If JB signs with Cleveland, it is likely to be at a big discount like what they got Napoli for. He made $16M a year in a 2 year contract with Boston in 2014-15, then was forced to play for only $7M last season.

Is this deal done? Details on the options?

Per TSN #MLB Insider Steve Phillips: Bautista gets $18M in 2017. Could get up to $60M over 3 years with options/incentives. #BlueJays

Rosenthal said an agreement is final but Passan says it's not. Also pending a physical.

I still think it's funny Bautista ended up getting more than the Blue Jays originally offered and Edwin had to take a year and 20M less. Basically everyone got what they didn't want but here we are.
