nextyear Verified Member Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 The team name Blue Jays is so weak. It is embarrassing following a team with a name that to me, is about as fierce as a hummingbird. Might as well just call them the Toronto Hummingbirds. I cringe every time I hear the name Blue Jays, it makes it even tougher that this is the team that I follow on a daily basis.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 The worse thing about being a Blue Jays fan is having to deal with obnoxious Torontonians. However, there is some solace in watching them lose. in that the obnoxious Torontonians will be upset. There is a good reason why so many Canadians across Canada can't stand Torontonians. My prediction for tonight's game is that Lariano will walk 5 in 5 innings, will be wild from the 1st inning and will give up 4 runs (or more) by the 5th inning. He likely won't make it past the 5th inning. Well outside Toronto. I lived in Hamilton for several years and the people are completely different - likable and humble. Torontonians suck. That is why I wish the Montreal Expos would come back - I am a very reluctant Blue Jays fan. However, it is so much fun watching the Maple Leafs lose year after year. Making up your own words now. Time to put your big boy pants on. Blue Jays lineup looks absolutely weak compared to the Yankees lineup. Toronto Raptors, Argonauts and Maple leafs are a joke. The team name Blue Jays is so weak. Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Big game today, chance to get back to .500, show the Yankees that the AL East isn't over yet, and for Biagini to continue to cement his place in the 2018 rotation.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Pompey came out with a "leg issue" Hopefully a cramp

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Pompey was removed from his first rehab game with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday after suffering an apparent leg injury, Amy Moritz of The Buffalo News reports. Rehabbing from a concussion suffered in the World Baseball Classic, Sunday's event may cause a setback in his rehab timeline. Buffalo manager Bobby Meacham thought something was wrong when he saw Pompey "flexing his knee" after an awkward strikeout in the second inning. "We had to take him out. I'm not sure exactly, but he felt something with his leg," Meacham said. Pompey was not available to speak to the media after the game.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Biagini and Tepera both in the rotation sounds awful.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Biagini and Tepera both in the rotation sounds awful. What's wrong with Biagini? He's looking great in there right now.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Next season, sure why not let him try After this year he'd be 4 seasons removed from being a starter, and wasn't even particularly good at it in the minors. Biagini on the other hand was still a starter when the Jays took him in the rule 5 draft, was trending upwards a starter at AA, and was only used as a pen arm to satisfy his rule 5 requirements. He very likely would have been starting last year at some point had the health of the Jays rotation not been so freakishly good.

Im not saying Tepera would be good or anything but hell give him some extended appearances in Spring Training if we wants. What is there to lose

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Among qualified Pitchers Biagini has allowed the 3rd least amount of hard contact. Its funny because his statline looks a lot like Stroman's (Same K, BB and GB numbers) yet they couldn't be anymore different in terms of appearance.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 If Martin can't start tonight they may as well place him on the DL retroactive to the last time he played. We are going to need to pinch hit for Maile this road trip and having 1 available catcher really sucks.

He's caught like 4 or 5 games in a row, the dude needs a break.

What is there to lose Sometimes it worth it, sometimes it isn't. In Tepera's case, it's not really worth it. If he happens to be available to spot start in extreme situations, like... if half the starting staff gets cholera... fine.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Biagini will def be in next year's rotation as long as he's healthy. If they lose both Estrada and Liriano, then they'll need bodies to fill that one spot plus act as depth. Wouldn't shock me if Tepera is stretched out. Whether he's good or not is another story.
