I just want a LF that isn't Ezequiel Carrera. If the Mets are planning to just waste Conforto, I'd freaking love it if we could trade for him and then DFA Smoak.

 

I wish Pompey didn't get hurt. Now would be a good time to put him in LF and just let him sink or swim with it.

Except only Donaldson on that list can bring in decent prospects. Happ/Estrada, maybe a B level prospect, depending what they do until the deadline, but you are going to have to eat salary to trade JB at this point. That's the problem, the White Sox had assets to trade that were late 20s, team control, and actually star players, Jays only have 1 player and he's not even signed long term. If this club keeps Donaldson when they will not be competing for minimum 3 years if not more, it will be a VERY long unsuccessful road of mediocrity.

 

The Jays are kind of in no man's land now. The best time to trade Donaldson, Bautista, Happ, Estrada etc and every other old guy is at the upcoming deadline, but if the Jays are selling....it probably means all those guys aren't performing and won't garner much interest... Donaldson notwithstanding.

 

However if all those guys are performing well, then the Jays won't be selling. It's a very interesting scenario

What a disastrous start. I was really excited for the season to start but now I get nothing but frustrated from watching the games. A 3-6 or 4-5 start would be one thing but 1-8 is just brutal.

Probably in the minority but I really don't want to trade JD. It flies in the face of logic, but Toronto has been crying out for an MVP type talent for my entire life and he was it.

I'd love to lock him up. Jays should see how he feels about an extension this offseason. If he wants to come back then you'd be able to build the next 3 years around him, Sanchez, Stroman and Tulo which is a good core and would keep the team competitive.

Things are looking up. Brought my son and his bud from Calgary to watch this weekend. We get a walk off and then run into Liriano at the Benihana at the Royal York. He was so nice. He was there with his boys. Signed autographs and got up to take a picture with the boys. Very cool thrill for the kids.

10 day DL, allows them to have an extra reliever for just over a week and allow Sanchez to skip a turn in the rotation (there's an off day tomorrow).

 

I think we'll see teams do this a lot this season with the 10 day DL.
