  1. Twins in his debut I think.
  2. I don't think even Thor fetches that much with 2 years of control. Helps Brodie has no idea what he's doing.
  3. Yeah, I just don't see how we get there. I guess anything can happen, but our near-future pitching situation is... rough. 1. Thornton 2. Borucki (?) 3. SRF (?) 4. Shoemaker (?) Maybe Kay makes a push, maybe we make a ton of value signings that all pan out, but looking at the FA list doesn't inspire much confidence.
  4. Bo-Biggio-Vladdy 1-2-3 is fun
  5. Covey f***ing sucks
  6. Lol Vlad laces it right at Moncada. This guy has had the most ridiculously unlucky starts to a career I’ve ever seen.
  7. Me too, as soon as I saw the notification on my phone. 3B line 100s, birthday present to myself. Can’t believe I’m this fired up to watch Vlad and 5 scrubs, but here we are. New era!
  8. Lol who could have ever guessed you might feel this way
  9. I wanted Kelenic, but I’d be stoked with one of these 3.
  10. Could have been 5 if Pearson didn’t get hurt. I’m a big believer in the kid.
  11. Mike Trout slashed .326/.414/.544 with 11HR in 90 games during his age-19 season in AA. Not saying Vlad is Trout (he’s obviously never providing Trouts baserunning or defence) but what Vlad is doing has gotta be pretty close to unprecedented.
  12. Was disappointed in the pick the second I heard that. Would have much preferred a higher risk, high ceiling pick in that slot.
  13. I think command is Pearsons issue isn't it? He's got the stuff, he just needs to learn to control it. He kind of seems like he's got three true outcomes: TOR starter (with command of FB and secondaries), back of bullpen relief (fastball command, one or no effective secondary pitches), or nothing if he can't learn to command anything effectively. Stroman was definitely the safer pick, Pearson seems much more boom/bust in my view.
  14. Really like those comps on Warmoth and Pearson. Warmoth seems like Bo last year, minus a bit of power. Kid seems to just spray line drives. Get him in the cage with JD. Seems like he's got a good chance of sticking at short to boot. Pearson is boom/bust. Develop those secondaries and he's got TOR potential. If he's a fastball only guy then he's got a chance of landing in the back of the bullpen, which is a pretty good outcome regardless. Overall, I like it. This system needs high end talent more than anything else, as we're totally devoid of it minus Vlad and Bo. I'm a little higher on the Pearson pick than the Warmoth or Danner selections, just because he's got a pretty clear development trajectory and massive potential if he can learn to harness his nasty stuff. Working with professional pitching coaches should help tremendously in that regard.
  15. Yes ^^^
  16. IF JB can come around a bit he has value I would think. Tulo's contract makes him borderline unmovable.
  17. Kind of inevitable with an old team that happens to be 1-9.
  18. Probably in the minority but I really don't want to trade JD. It flies in the face of logic, but Toronto has been crying out for an MVP type talent for my entire life and he was it. I know going all-in in 2015 always meant this type of thing might come, but it just sucks it might be so soon. Makes losing to that God awful Royals team sting that much more.
  19. I jump in the car and head home after the top of the inning and... it's still the 1st. Not pretty.
  20. I like Pearce at leadoff and Gibby doing smart things
  21. He got walked, it's too bad the ump is f***ing awful
  22. First 5 pitches all outside the zone, 1 swing, ends in a K. Robo umps pleaseeee
