I honestly had no idea a MLB player even kneeled, nor had heard of Bruce Maxwell before today..and I'm a dork who participates in 30 team fantasy leagues. But sure some rando waiter in Alabama recognizes him in plain clothes.,

Yeah I'm not buying Maxwell's story either. It just makes no sense. If the waiter really did recognize him I think he'd be more excited that he might get a good tip off a guy who makes some pretty good money rather than trying to make some political statement.

Of all the MLB managers fired so far this off season, those who have a chance of actually getting a job as manager in 2018, in descending order of likelihood:

Thanks for the clarification. But if he's not on board with his buddy's story than he can clarify it. Everyone and their mom thinks it's him who said it. If he disagrees he should probably pipe up otherwise it seems like he's adopted the story as his own.

The story is that the waiter recognised him only after checking his id, that makes a lot more sense than recognising him by sight.

 

The waiter says he refused service because someone else in the party didn't have id on them.

I'm really surprised at that. The Yankees look to have a great future, but it's not like they were favourites to win the AL this year or anything, so they've not really underachieved.

I was reading the last few pages wondering who the f*** Bruce Maxwell was. I had no idea there was a baseball player named Bruce Maxwell. There’s no way he was recognized by a waiter.

So we're to assume a random waiter in Alabama would recognize the backup catcher of the Oakland A's?

 

For me, that's the story right there, lol. 99% of waiters in Toronto wouldn't recognize Raffy Lopez.

 

They're from the same town, just saying. As KK said... the councillor made it public, not Maxwell.
