- boil water

- cook pasta 8-10 minutes

- strain

- throw s*** sauce in same pot, with burner on

- let sauce cook for like 60 seconds

- throw hot pasta back in pot, stir for a minute

eat

don't forget to turn burner off

do your dishes

you don't need ground beef. beef doesn't belong in pasta. f*** whoever thinks it does.

True you don't need it but I like to have some protein to go with all those carbs. And if you're eating s*** boxed noodles and s*** Prego sauce what will it hurt?

You can melt a pot with the stove? Maybe one of those crappy aluminum ones on a gas stove, but I'm not sure.

My roommate did it in university, and the dorms definitely didn't have gas stoves. You absolutely can. We were up all night finishing a programming assignment in the computer lab, came home and he was hungry. He threw something on the stove, and fell asleep while it was cooking. Thank God for smoke detectors and fire alarms (about the only time I can remember saying that there).

the beef complicates things

you also have to buy beef which complicates life. or thaw beef which sucks to remember

a good idea to balance the meal is to throw random veggies in with the pasta

thanks a lot!

BTW regarding ground beef - I tried that too for the first time a few days ago and I'm glad I don't have ecoli. I was just wondering - how do you get your ground beef to get that dark brown color? Mine only went as far as grey and I cooked it for 15 minutes...

Umm idk, you could take whatever spatula type tool that you have and press down on the beef at times. 15 minutes seems like it would be black at that point though.

Yeah the beef does complicate things. You kind of have to buy it the same day you use it and going to the grocery store sucks. Throwing some mushrooms in there sounds like a good idea though.

if your beef was frozen before it might be dried out, and it will be more gray than brown

same with ground turkey

More seriously though - has Brian Wilson announced whether he'll return as a starter or closer once he perfects the knuckleball?

And is Thole going to be his personal catcher?

Wow, that's crazy. I didn't think the electric ones would get hot enough.

Noodles: Boil some water in a pot on the stove. Throw a box of pasta in there. Add a pinch of salt. .

You already f***ed it up! Salt goes in first, and more than a pinch. It's for flavour.

Don't listen to anybody who tells you to cook pasta for X number of minutes, there are too many variables (was it a low boil or a rolling boil? how big is the pot? how much water? how much pasta? How thick is the pasta? Whole wheat or white?). Pasta should be cooked to taste. Take a noodle out of the water and bite it. After years of doing this, you will be able to identify perfectly cooked pasta by sight and smell.

I can't cook for s*** but spaghetti is so damn easy even I can do it. Some real chef here might laugh at this advice but take it from a bachelor who can't cook that this is what needs to happen:

Noodles: Boil some water in a pot on the stove. Throw a box of pasta in there. Add a pinch of salt. I don't know why but my mom told me to do it. The box of noodles will tell you how long it takes. Usually around 8 minutes or so. If you want you can pull a noodle out and try it, if it's too hard it needs more time. Be careful to not burn yourself though so run the test noodle under some cold water first. Also, stir the noodles a little bit bc if they reach the bottom of the pot and stay there they can get burnt. When the noodles are done to your liking take the pot and dump it all in a strainer which you have put in the sink. Once you are satisfied that the water is gone, you can dish the noodles on to plates.

Sauce: Buy some ground beef and throw it in a pan. You might want to spray the pan first with some vegetable oil or something. When the meat has minimum pink left (I prefer no pink but you don't want it to burn), throw a jar of spaghetti sauce in there. Once the meat is cooked just turn the heat down so you don't burn the sauce. You merely need to keep it warm. Stir it up.

Now when the noodles and sauce are both done (ideally you finish them both within a couple of minutes so start the noodles then work on the sauce) you put the noodles on a plate and then put the sauce over the noodles. It's really easy, trust me.

Now further to that if you want a real treat you can get a loaf of those premade garlic breads. You just throw those in the stove and follow the directions but they are delicious with your spaghetti.

If you are having a lady over make sure to buy a bottle of wine.

That's it. If you have any questions just ask.

Jesus f*** man - you need to drain the oil out of the ground beef before you add the pasta or you'll have a heart attack at age 35.

I usually just toss it at the wall. If it sticks she's done.

Isn't Prince a vegetarian?

Pass.

After all this...

No he's not LOL

It was a common misconception that he cleared up at a press conference one time IIRC

I'm amazed how many of you can't cook. We should start a learn to f***ing cook you savage thread in the off topic forum.

Ground pork pairs better with the sweetness of the sauce.

Also, FFS man you're a lawyer. Buy some Rao's for the love of Christ.

I never thought of ground pork. I rarely make this stuff, too many calories and carbs. But if I do I'll buy the top shelf stuff.

I also don't eat pasta often and I had been using cheap sauce like Classico (which isn't even the cheapest of the cheap) and I was at Longos and decided to see what a 10 dollar jar of pasta sauce tastes like. Dunno if I'll be able to go back to the cheap stuff now.

You can make like 3L of pasta sauce yourself for maybe less than $10 in ingredients. Highly recommended

I don't eat it often enough to warrant the effort.

I have started making home made cashew milk, though. That stuff is the s***.

Bauer is one of the least likable athletes. Can't stand the guy.

Yet there are so many people that suck him off because he's "funny" on Twitter.

No he's not, he's just an asshat like Trump is on Twitter.
