P2F Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 There is literally nothing better than the smell of fresh cut grass.Maybe permanent markers? Or gasoline? But you're right - fresh cut grass is pretty amaze-balls as far as aromas go.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 And he won't start opening day vs. the Blue Jays. He's expected back April 15th.. maybe, depending on the severity of the shoulder injury. They are very reliant on him Even in their playoff years the Orioles were a. 500 team when he wasn't starting
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 And it's official, Alex Reyes is the 1st TJS of the season.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 That sucks... I wonder if they considered that new alternative TJ that's out there. Not sure if it was even applicable to this injury. Would be a tough call, because its not as established, and that's a hell of an asset to test the waters with. They'd have him back for next year tho...

At this point you plan for TJS, and are able to do a Primary Repair, under the right circumstances.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Is Keon Broxton a decent asset?

Nafro Verified Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Is Keon Broxton a decent asset? I think he's a decent speed/power play. Especially for league's with CF eligibility.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Tits. Capps could very well become one the super elite closers alongside Chapman and Jansen.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Tits. Capps could very well become one the super elite closers alongside Chapman and Jansen. Last season 16.8 k/9 2.0 bb/9 That's insane FIP 1.10 ERA+ 331 FFS
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Fack that seems like it would damn hard to time up
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 still don't understand how his knee doesn't blow out from that. At some point a spike is going to get caught..

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 His K%-BB% in 2015 was better than Andrew Miller this year.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 He'll be great for two months.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Plenty of contract extension talk on Arrietta and Bumgarner
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I find it amusing that he digs into the rubber...only to hop off and push a second time off the dirt. Is there any word on whether he's looking to add a 3rd hop to his delivery?
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Tits. Capps could very well become one the super elite closers alongside Chapman and Jansen. Capps is never going to throw 60 innings in a season.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Capps is never going to throw 60 innings in a season. I don't see why not. Why is his delivery in particular any more harmful to his arm than other pitchers?
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I don't see why not. Why is his delivery in particular any more harmful to his arm than other pitchers? Well, his delivery looks very violent, and elbow problems have been plaguing him to the point that he hasn't thrown more than 46 innings since 2013. So I'm assuming he's not suddenly going to stay healthy.
TholesWeirdEye Verified Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Looks like he went from a drag to a hop.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 He's insanely late on his timing, no way that holds up over a full year, new elbow or not.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 still don't understand how his knee doesn't blow out from that. At some point a spike is going to get caught.. Yeah it looks like he's going to go right over on his knee the first time he catches a spike.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Yeah it looks like he's going to go right over on his knee the first time he catches a spike. 6' 5" and he hops ahead before releasing the ball Damn, that doesn't give the hitter much time to see the ball coming LMAO
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I think he's clearly cheating so I don't want him to succeed.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I think he's clearly cheating so I don't want him to succeed. Agreed. What's to stop a pitcher from adding an extra hop or two. Maybe something to bring them half way to the plate before they release the ball
