That's not a grammatical error, it's a typo/dyslexic mixup. I do that a lot when I'm rushing a thought.

Just yanking your chain. I do it more than you.

Who would ever pick Matt Thaiss over Eric Thames in a fresh dynasty draft right now? Bonkers. I'd probably put Thames over Pujols tbh.

Brewers To Sign Neftali Feliz

By Steve Adams | January 19, 2017 at 11:20am CDT

The Brewers have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with free-agent right-hander Neftali Feliz, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (Twitter links). Feliz is expected to close for Milwaukee and will be guaranteed $5.35MM, per Passan. His contract also contains incentives, which can boost the value of the deal to $6.85MM. Feliz was first rumored to be working toward a deal with Milwaukee over the weekend.

Nice move for Milwaukee. They'll be able to flip him at the deadline.

I'll be interested to see the numbers on that. I actually quite like him as long as he's being paid appropriately as an all-power, no walk 1B. Teams usually miscast him as an OF for some reason. I guess with Kim, Jones and Smith in the OF he'll see more time at DH.

And teams will be hitting a lot of shots to the OF for XBHs. Kim/Jones/Smith/Trumbo would be the worst defensive outfield in the majors..especially as Adam Jones is losing a step in CF.

Yeah really like the signing. Likely will use him as their closer and then flip him at the deadline to a contender. Feliz was really good last season. Shocked it took a team this long to sign him.

Feliz wasn't much above average last year (and that's giving him some benefit of the doubt by not looking at WAR). He was also terrible in the 2nd half. It's probably a fair deal, and a fantastic opportunity for him, but I'm really not shocked that he was still unsigned.

Source: Mark Trumbo's deal with the Orioles is for three years and around $37M. Slight deferrals lower the present-day value.

That's not as bad as it could have been, though Trumbo at his best was still only a 2.2 win outfielder. Unless the Orioles rightfully play him at first where he won't be bleeding as many defensive runs there's still some downside to the deal. They could be paying a 1 win player a tad over $12 million.

Would you rather have Morales at 3/33, or Trumbo at 3/37?

I'd say that's a solid deal for the O's.

As Org noted, it depends where they play him, it's a decent deal.

Well I'm convinced we gave Morales that deal in order to get Gurriel because they have the same agent and the signings were announced at the same time.

TIL'd, didn't know that.

Good lord do the Rockies look stupid. Could have had Trumbo or EE for less money than what they gave Desmond to play 1B.

That Desmond deal might go down as the worst deal of the offseason. Awful.
